Venom - step by step - PSD + PDF

(edit - I fixed the PDF, sorry for the issue!)

Hey!

Hope you're doing well! I've been working on a few bigger walkthroughs for this Patreon and I wanted to share this more in depth step by step of my most recent Venom cover. I've included a PDF of this as well as the PSD showing the images w/o the text so you can look through the file.

Here is the PSD(the PDF is attached to this post) - Download

The other post will be a long form video, it's another cover I did from start to finish totaling 10 hours. Hopefully that cover will get revealed shortly so that I can put that together for you all!

Please let me know if you have any questions about this process! I included the brushes for CSP in this post

Thanks as always for your continued support, I greatly appreciate it!

Dave

Don't worry about it! Thank you for the reply ๐Ÿ˜„! I'll have to give that a shot I know there is a way to convert photoshop brushes into clip studio but I might just end up getting photoshop again. Love both programs but I'm more familiar with photoshop. Thank you for the advice definitely going to give it a shot ๐Ÿ˜„!

sorry I missed this question! Yes, you can definitely get close with what I walked through, but I would say if you want a similar underlying textural look - maybe try working up all your values the same way I mentioned but without photoshop brushes and then use textures you find on google or wherever else of canvas or primed canvas and lay that overtop your render before doing the final painting on a soft light or maybe a overlay layer to get something there.

Just wondering to get that "traditional feeling" painting look can it be done in clipstudio?

apaleguy

Ahhhhh, thank you! This is awesome!

I'm glad this was helpful! I enjoy breaking things down like this as I feel it helps me think through my process and hopefully improve on it.
