Hey!
So, I wanted to touch on something slightly more complex in this video - building forms on top of forms when inking. I usually see comments when I ink something more detailed asking about or commenting on smaller details like veins or muscle sitting on a larger form and I thought I'd address how I approach these things simply.
Most of the time when I think through this process it's a matter of finding where the light is hitting these forms and then what the shape of these forms will be. Once I've figured that all out it's as simple(although it takes time) rendering the forms using the same wire mesh approach I talked about in the first Basics video. It make look daunting, but it really is just a matter of finding the shape of these forms and rendering using fine lines in order to add dimension to each of the shapes.
Please, if you have any questions, leave them below and I will do my best to address them - and if a question needs a more in depth answer I can find a way to share a bit more in a subsequent inking video.
Thanks as always for your support, I hope this was helpful!
Dave
PS - this is essentially how I think through all of my paintings as well - the only difference being I don't use a tiny tiny brush and instead opt for a larger brush initially to define the shape and values - after this I work to smaller and smaller brushes until I'm doing tiny details.
double PS - the inking brushes are attached to this post
