Final Fantasy 7 - progress - blocking/sketching/posing

Hope you're good! Here's the latest update to the Final Fantasy 7 piece - at this stage I am trying my best to capture a bit of the essence of who each of these characters are to me - I don't mind being messy when I'm working through this phase, it's more important to me that I get across some type of(hopefully) iconic look. When doing this I am mostly looking at what initially got me into FF7 in the first place - the concept art and promo artwork/menu artwork - I look to these inspirations(mixed with my style) to bring as much of a faithful representation of my original experience to the artwork - at least that's the plan!

Once I get to the background and Sephiroth all sketched up, I'll begin to do the final lines on all the characters/background elements. After that I'll be blocking in the figures and beginning the overall color composition. Going off of the previous Char piece I did I think this should all go pretty smoothly - one of my happiest developments with this style is how procedural it's become, I love that I can basically plan for an end result and trust that I have the tools/steps to get there - it's very satisfying for me...because I have manic issues with controlling every aspect of this haha.

I'm very happy with the direction, I actually did this one to prep for another idea that a lot of people have asked me for - Chrono Trigger! I already have a composition designed for that one, but I'm gonna make sure I iron out how that approach will go with this FF7 piece.
