Hope you're well! Attached to this post is the high res file of the YuYu Hakusho piece I've been working on - learned a lot on this one, tried combining all of my past approaches into one and I think by the time I got to Hiei, I pretty much had it figured out - at least how I'll do it in the future. Once I had completed that piece I decided to try the same style on a more realistic painting - that's what the Battle Angel Alita piece was for, just wanted to practice a quick application using that style. I think overall it's all looking decent and coming together well enough, I'm hopeful that I'll have a good handle on this shortly.

Oh nooo, noo Dave please I'm begging don't you ever draw Major Kusanagi in the absolutely stunning way that you drew Alita. No one wants it and especially not me 😭💘 Seriously though the contrast on those B&Ws is SO GOOD! I just can't get enough of your material rendering and the way each character's aura is subtly hinted and intertwined into the rest of the piece. Beautiful work!
