Chrono Trigger - Lucca Grayscale technique - Robo update!

Hey!

Hope you're well! Here's the latest update to the Chrono Trigger painting as well as the Lucca tutorial write up - I think this approach with Lucca works pretty well, I especially like it on Robo so far, I think once this all comes together it's gonna be pretty strong if things lean toward that Robo level render. Lots of learning and experimenting as I go, my favorite part of working on these! I'm pretty happy with this application of my old grayscale approach. It's definitely different than what I've been doing previously!

Hope this helps! There's a PDF attached as well as the brushes from the last basics post - these should cover all the steps involved.

Thanks as always for your support!

Dave

Hi Dave - thank you for this really detailed process. Just got a couple of question for ya: 1.) Which Kyle pencil brush are you using here, and do you have any particular settings for it? I’m using his Happy HB brush right now in Procreate and trying to get the settings right, but haven’t managed to yet. 2.) Which chalk brush are you using to render here? And finally 3.) Will you be posting a video process of this piece? I am very interested to learn more about how you use lineart and your rendering process, as I struggle very much with that particular step. Thank you! -Iva
