Art Dump! - Diablo IV Barb, Ginyu, Venom, steps, PSD!

Been a minute since I posted up - wanted to share what I've been up to - lots of style exploration, getting deep in the weeds on textures and trying to stay loose with my brush strokes. Really enjoying the results, it's mostly stemming from the addition of a tight "pencil" drawing, this is the clip studio pencil brush I mentioned during a couple of the live streams recently. I think the tight drawing aspect was missing from my paintings, I had initially thought I could handle the majority of that within Krita but I think my paintings really benefit from the pencil drawing by quite a bit.

Anyway, I hope you like this direction! I'm nearly done with the Ginyu Force painting, almost the entirety of that process has been recorded and I'll be putting that out soon as it's all wrapped up.

2023-02-28 19:05:24 +0000 UTCI see you've got Diablo 4 on the brain. I'm very curious/excited to play through that game when it comes out and see how the style and tone is executed. Other than the From Software games- we haven't gotten a lot of grounded, realistic or gritty fantasy aesthetic in the high profile space for awhile now. Certainly not like the way the genre was portrayed in the 80s or 90s. Mainstream fantasy's look and feel has been in a post-WoW or post-Critical Role kind of vibe for awhile now. Not really judging either approach, but curious to see where future trends will lean and if Diablo 4 will have an impact.
