The Basics - Kirby!

Hey!

Welcome back to the regular patreon posts! I'm finally ready to post on a normal schedule again, the long pursuit of buying a home for my family and wrapping up a wild amount of client work has come to an end and we have stability! Thank you all so much for sticking with me, you're amazing and I honestly can't believe you still hung with me throughout this process, thank you, thank you, thank you. Your support means everything to me.

Let's start the posts with a refresher on where I'm currently at with my process! This here is an hour long walkthrough of my current process step by step with some caveats here and there mentioning what I might've done had this been a different type of character.

The brushes I used in this are attached to the post here! I'll have more posts detailing out other uses for this process when it comes to different genres(the ones that aren't pink round balls and are instead covered in armor and all that other crap).

Thank you all so much!

Dave

side note - here is the smart way to render Kirby, I did this in about 10 minutes, vector Kirby!

Hey Dave, thanks for sharing this super efficient process. I love how that chrome brush works. I can see how over time it can save you so much time. Concerning the large chrome brush: I can’t make it so it gives me these thin lines while also being suitable for softer and painterly parts. Somehow I can’t make it work for blending different shades as fluidly as i can see it in your process. Did you do any special adjustments ? Best wishes and thanks =)

Using the same Brushes, I can get the same line work. Did you customize your krita chrome pencil?

Finally watched the full video. Impressive process, Dave! It looks efficient and super versatile. It's been great to see you constantly tweak your approach over I don't know how many months. Back when I first joined, you weren't using Krita at all. Thanks for another thorough breakdown. This kind of tutorial is the main reason I subscribe. Easily my favorite type of content on your Patreon apart from the Q&As and livestreams!

(just posted up the vector Kirby, I just wanted to show the "correct" way of rendering Kirby!)

Hey man the hundreds of hours video content already on this Patreon are a wealth of knowledge. I’ve gotten so much out of watching and rewatching videos that it’s a no brainer to stay subscribed. I’m excited for the future of the Patreon!
