Greenwoods University Part 01

“We have a noise complaint over on Pine Crest. Mind going and checking it out?” the squawk box said.

“On it…” Officer Chambers said. He’d just gotten his coffee and doughnut and was ready to have another peaceful night in his squad car. The small college town rarely had too much trouble, but every once in a while the students would get a little too carried away and he or a couple of the other officers would have to go and quiet them down.

He drove a little past the college to find the frat house that was usually the one causing all the trouble. Toilet paper and beer bottles were scattered around the front yard, but he was surprised to see almost no one else around. Clearly there was a party, just like most Friday nights, but this was a bit different. He felt his hand go to his gun. Despite not seeing much action in such a small town, instinct seemed to have taken over and he carefully approached the front door.

“Police! Open up!” he banged on the door. It hadn’t been latched and opened under the pressure of his fist. Again, no one was there. His finger twitched on the trigger as he stepped inside, pacing himself. His body had lowered ever so slightly as his eyes around. Looking for any kind of clue as to what was going on.

The hall led to the back door which looked like it’d been taken off its hinges. Deep claw marks were dug into the wooden floor and walls. Beer cans, bottles and trash littered the floor. But it wasn’t because of him. He’d been pretty new to the force but that didn’t mean he didn’t know what it was like to be on the other end of the party with the police showing up. People scattered. But they’d been gone for far longer than he’d even gotten the call.

“The fuck..?” he felt a bead of sweat on his forehead. He leaned his face over to his shoulder and squeezed the trigger on his radio. “I’m going to need--” A loud thump followed by a grunt from upstairs, distracted him. Static filled the radio and he quickly turned it off. It was a nearly 10 minute drive before anyone could get there and based on all the damage, the house might not be standing by then.

Officer Chambers’ held his gun low as he paced up the stairs. Each step was as quiet as his boots would allow. He could feel his heart beating faster. Movement seemed to have increased upstairs. A hard thump hit the wall to the police man’s right. He saw the door slightly ajar.

Cautiously he approached and looked through it. ‘The fuck…’ his eyes went wide and mouth hung open as he didn’t know what he was seeing. A massive furry beast was standing over some guy whose clothes were nearly ripped off. It stood taller than any of the bears in the area and looked like it weighed significantly more.

“Please! Wait!” the guy said. He looked like he was a member of the frat. Early 20’s. Rather muscular build. With the remnants of a polo still on his chest. “Be a good...” he held his hand forward as he took another step towards the corner.

The beast jumped, easily knocking the 200 pound man to the ground. It bore it’s fangs, snarling as the guy tried to resist. He turned his head trying to get whatever distance he could between him and the jaws of the thing on top of him. “Please…” he whimpered. Claws dug deep his arms and legs.

“POLICE!” Chambers shouted as he pushed into the door, gun drawn and aimed for the beast’s chest.

It looked over its shoulder at the officer. A deep menacing growl filled it’s throat. Officer Chambers didn’t flinch. “I don’t know what the fuck you are but you need to git!” he shouted. He was finally able to see it’s face was closer to a wolf than anything else. The mixture of gray and white fur made more sense but he didn’t have time to be thinking about fairy tales.

The beast growled again, angry that it’d been interrupted. He let out a loud bark to say the same to the officer, but Chambers didn’t move. His gun was still drawn. Ready to shoot at any moment. A flash of the full moon hit the beasts golden eyes.

Officer Chambers reaction faltered as he saw the mouth full of sharp teeth and massive creature lunging towards him. A shot was fired but with very little aim, hitting it in the shoulder instead of the chest. It let out an ear shattering roar as it slashed against Chambers chest, tearing through his shirt and body armor.

“FUCK!” he screamed out in pain. His body fell back and hit his head on the wall knocking him out.

The beast looked over his shoulder again as sirens blared from outside. Blue and red flashing lights lit up the room. The beast let out another angry growl knowing that if he didn’t leave now, he wouldn’t have much of a chance. It jumped through the window, leaving shattered glass on the lawn outside.

-------

Officer Chambers opened his eyes to the back of the EMT truck. For all he knew he should have still been at the frat house with his gun in his hand. Now he was on a gurney with his shirt stripped from him and a light shining into his eyes. Fog still covered his mind as he rolled back and forth, only to be pushed back down.

“We need you to calm down. Alright? Just follow the lights with your eyes and everything will be fine.”

“But…” The officer slurred the single syllable as he tried to regain his consciousness.

“Everythings fine. Can you tell us what your name is?”

“Brad… Officer Brad Chambers…” he groaned. A headache was starting to get to him more. The dull numbness of pain was starting to shoot through him. He groaned and felt his body flex as his consciousness came back.

“Good. Now just relax. And breath. In and out…”

Brad tried to struggle a bit more but was easily handled by the other guy. In his less than lucid state, he couldn’t quite control how his body was reacting. Just one hand on his chest seemed to be able to push him down against the gurney with nearly no effort. He struggled against it.

“It’s alright. You’re safe now. Can you tell me what happened?”

“I… I don’t know… It was like a bear or something. It was in the house trying to attack someone… But I… I don’t know…” he responded.

“Ok. And what else?”

“It was ummm… Attacking someone. And I drew my gun… Aiming at it. Then it lunged at me.” The fog was starting to clear from his mind. He could see the huge beast standing on its hind legs but it didn’t have a bear’s face. The snout was too long and it’s fur wasn’t black or brown. It was almost gray. He vividly remembered that.

“And then what?”

“It slashed my chest and then tried to flip me over. I could feel it’s cock against my…” Brad cut himself off as he realized what he was saying. The memory was starting to form and he could feel the light pain in his ass. But the fog had lifted and he could feel the uncomfortable silence in the back of the EMT vehicle. “I’m sorry… I think that might have been a dream…”

The EMT cleared his throat. “Of course. Those things happen from time to time. False memories.”

Brad wasn’t sure if that was true or not, but wasn’t about to say anything. The embarrassment of saying it at all was making him want to just disappear. But he knew it was real. As he was going out of consciousness he could feel that hard dick against his backside.

“But it’s a good thing you got there when you did. That other guy was in some real danger. But I’m more surprised at how little damage that bear did to you guys. I mean neither one of you have too much past a couple of scratches. Compared to what it did to the walls I’d consider yourselves lucky!”

“Right,” Brad felt himself agree. He looked out the back to see the other guy with a blanket around his shoulders and another around his hips, looking down at the ground. Officer Davenport was questioning him about the incident, but the college student didn’t seem too keen to answer.

“It looks like your body armor took most of the blow, but those three claw marks will probably be there for a couple of days. The other guy didn’t suffer much worse. Just some teeth marks against his shoulder and claw marks on his ankles and wrists. Don’t know what he did to that bear to get those kinds of markings though…”

“Dunno…” Brad said. He could feel his consciousness coming back. A bit of a dull headache was still there but nothing nearly as bad as it had been. It was just the lights seemed so much brighter and the sounds so much louder. He could practically hear the EMT worker’s heartbeat. “Must have just been a very weird bear…”
