There’s a far more palpable tension to this album than any other ST album, maybe minus TPWBYT and the early EPs - none of these big cathartic releases like in SD like Higher, The Offering, or even ambient bits like Drag Me Under, or like obvs The Summoning and the longer ones on TMBTE. It feels much more like the start of a greater body of work or just something greater than itself, much like how the early EPs were for Sundowning, and Sundowning and TPWBYT for TMBTE. Makes me very excited for the future, even if it might not hit in quite the same way I think we all have big big things to look forward to over a continued Sleepy Boiz and RCA partnership :D

Have your initial thoughts changed much after a week of it being out?

I think we all hyped it so much that when it’s unexpected we struggle with it but that’s what we want from them. Production is S tier on it all the way through. I think the biggest issue for me still is track order - I’ve made a playlist on Spotify now and reordered them and imo - it’s much better

2025-05-10 18:52:26 +0000 UTCCame here to join you for my 2nd listen of the album after 24 hours to digest the first listen. 2nd time around I enjoyed it much more, although I agree some of the songs on here are growers. It didn’t immediately grip me like TMBTE did, however still a very well rounded album by a special band. I’m not sure it will surpass the last one though, however - I’m not sure TMBTE can ever be beaten because it’s literal perfection and everything else they do will likely be compared to it until the end of time. I’m going to Download Festival next month where they’re headlining the Saturday. Can’t wait to see which songs they play off this record mixed with their previous catalogue. Certainly a new direction for Sleep Token and their fans alike!

2025-05-10 13:42:57 +0000 UTCI remember when I first listened to Hypnosis 3 years ago as my first exposure to Sleep Token and was like - "Ok yeah thats pretty cool" and then listened to the whole TPWBYT and was like yeah not bad (coming from Lorna Shore, STP, Paleface Swiss etc. so my mentality was "not heavy" = "ehhhh"). Now, TPWBYT is my favourite ST album, and I think EiA is going to be a grower like that album was. Love your reaction and thoughts on it! I'm still a bit conflicted (or surprised I guess), but in a good way that's making me think a lot more about the music I just consumed.,

2025-05-10 04:27:18 +0000 UTCLike everything sleep token for me- first listen leaves me scratching my head- then by the third or fourth listen I am frothing… nothing new with this album. This one is a big FU and a subjugation of all expectations of them as a band. Beautiful in its difference from their previous repertoire- whole weirdly being super old school sleep token feeling.
