Swoosh Guide: Tips, Tricks & Tutorials

How are you all enjoying Swoosh so far?

It's been a lot of fun for us to watch your trades come through, and we really appreciate the helpful feedback that has allowed us to identify and fix a number of pesky bugs!

A few people have been messaging us with questions, so we thought it would be helpful to put together the ultimate guide to Swoosh. We've included a step-by-step tutorial, an explanation of the special features and answers to our most frequently asked questions.

Please take the time to read our guide to ensure you're getting the most out of Swoosh.

HOW TO GET ACCESS TO SWOOSH

STEP 1: Visit https://swooshcreator.com 

STEP 2: Create an account (and remember which email address you use) 

STEP 3: Direct message us here on Patreon with the email address you registered with and within the next 24 hours we will reply and enable your early access pass and owed coins! Please do not leave your email address in a comment on our of our posts, as this could delay the process - you will need to direct message us. 

STEP 4: Have fun and make lots of Pokemon!

SWOOSH TUTORIAL

We’ve done our best to ensure that Swoosh is simple and easy to use!

STEP 1: Open Swoosh and tap the + button in the bottom right corner.

STEP 2: Create your Pokemon according to your exact specifications.

STEP 3: Tap the tick button in the bottom right corner.

STEP 4: Choose a nickname for your Pokemon, or leave it blank if you want to keep the original name. Tap ‘Save’.

STEP 5: Tap your Pokemon to select it, and then tap ‘Upload Now’. This will cost 100 coins.

STEP 6: Enter your in-game username (make sure it’s exactly correct, or we won’t be able to find you!) and tap through the instructions.

STEP 7: Wait for the link code to appear on your screen. Grab your Switch and go to Y-COMM. 

STEP 8: On your Switch, press the + button to connect to the internet. Then select ‘Link Trade’, ‘Set Link Code’ and enter the link code that we give you.

STEP 9: We will connect and complete the trade!

SPECIAL FEATURES

Shiny Pokemon

To make a shiny Pokemon, tap the star next to the Pokemon’s name.

Tap the star twice to make an ultra-shiny Pokemon, which are even rarer than regular shinies!

Please note that shiny Mew can only legally be Japanese, so it will come through with a Japanese name.

Gigantamax Pokemon

Only certain Pokemon can Gigantamax. If a Pokemon is able to Gigantamax, there will be lightning strikes next to its name in Swoosh. Tap those, and it will make it Gigantamax! 

Please note that Melmetal cannot currently Gigantamax - once it can, we will update Swoosh!

Event Pokemon

You can create Event Pokemon with Swoosh! If you create it correctly, the Pokemon will have the correct stamps and ribbons once traded. We recommend uploading a PKX file if you need to create specific Event Pokemon - this feature will be available very soon.

Dynamax Level

Use the Dynamax bars at the bottom of the screen to customise the Dynamax level of your Pokemon. Simply tap them, and the white bars will show the level.

Please note that Legendary Pokemon cannot currently Dynamax.

Pokeball

Tap the Pokeball icon to select your Pokeball. If you select an illegal Pokeball, we will change it to a regular Pokeball.

Nickname

You can nickname your Pokemon if you wish! Once you have finished creating it, tap the tick button in the bottom right corner. This will bring up the option to give your Pokemon a nickname.

OT Name

Swoosh can learn your OT name and make it seem as though the Pokemon has been bred by you! You will need to complete a couple of trades with Swoosh first, then tap 'OT Name' and your OT name should appear. This is a Patreon-exclusive feature that we are really excited about!

PKX

This feature is not currently available, but is coming soon and will be Patreon exclusive! We will let you know when it is ready.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Why did my trade time out?

If you made sure you were connected to the internet and entered the link code correctly, your trade still could have timed out if your internet connection was unstable or if you opened an in-game menu while waiting to connect. Please ensure that you are using a reliable wifi network and do not open any in-game menus while waiting for us, and make sure that your in-game username was typed into Swoosh correctly.

Why didn’t you refund my coins?

If you didn’t connect to us for the trade, we will usually refund your coins. If it happens multiple times, we will not always be able to.

Why is my Pokemon different to what I ordered?

If there is anything illegal about your Pokemon, we will fix it for you before we trade. To view the changes, please tap the Pokemon’s name at the bottom of the screen - it should say ‘Fixed and Delivered.’ If this isn’t the case, please double-check that you didn’t accidentally miss anything when you were creating the Pokemon.

Why don’t I have early access?

Early access to Swoosh is exclusively available to our Leader, Elite and Master tier supporters. If you are on the Trainer tier you will need to upgrade your membership in order to gain access to Swoosh.

If you are a Leader, Elite or Master tier supporter and you don’t have access to Swoosh, please complete the following steps:

How do I report a problem?

We want to make Swoosh the best that it can be, so your feedback is incredibly important to us. If you spot a problem, please email celadonswoosh@gmail.com and we will respond and fix it as soon as we can.
