The Conjuring World, Part 3

Story 1 of 3, Post 8 of 33 for June.

--------------------------------------------

"Wake up, babies! Open your eyes! Good morning! We have a huge surprise for you guys!" Monica stood at the foot of the crib, calling to Kevin and Sabrina, who began to yawn and stir.

Oliver opened the side of the crib and picked them up, one in each arm, handing Sabrina to his girlfriend. The changing table being large enough to accommodate both of them, they were checked and changed together.

As his wet diaper was being untaped, Kevin's curiosity was going wild. "What's this surprise you have for us?"

Oliver glanced at Monica and smiled. "You'll see soon enough, little guy. Let's just get you changed for now."

Once the littles had been changed, they were dressed into onesies and shortalls, which was unusual, and carried downstairs for breakfast, the bigs being careful not to let them see out of any windows. All through breakfast, Kevin and Sabrina wondered what was up, exchanging looks from their high chairs as they tried to guess what the surprise might be. Every possibility they thought of was horrible because they were sure that whatever it was, it was some new humiliation or torture. They were given their bottles and burped, and then they were finally held up and allowed to look outside, where they saw the new houses that had sprung up overnight. Already, there were a few people milling about on the ground, talking to each other or exploring their surroundings. The littles noticed with overwhelming dread that all of them were larger than they were. This included the three kids who chased each other across the grass. At last, the couple realized what their "parents" had been so excited about: they finally had other giants, other parents to talk to and embarrass their captives in front of.

"Well, let's go meet them." It was as if Oliver was reading their minds. The giants carried them outside and approached a small group of people standing around, the strangers looking up and smiling as they approached. Oliver walked up to his new neighbors with Monica beside him, introducing himself and his girlfriend. "And these two are Kevin and Sabrina, our little ones."

A woman with dark blonde hair and thick hips in her mid-to-late 20s smiled. "Aww, they're so cute! I'm Violet, and this is my husband Mark." She motioned to a brown-haired man wearing thin glasses about her age. "That little brown-haired streak over there is our daughter Nia."

They all shook hands before a tall, muscular man in his 20s stepped forward with his hand held out. "Steve. Nice to meet you. This is my girlfriend Lauren." A thin woman of average height with jet-black hair smiled and said hello. "The black-haired boy over there is our Rocky."

Next up was a slightly older man in his 30s named Charlie and his boyfriend Dayton, both of them with light brown hair and in good shape. "Last we looked, our two were still in bed back home."

Lauren scoffed. "Who could sleep late on a day like this? It's beautiful!"

Monica agreed. "It sure is, and it's so nice to finally have some company around here. Oliver and I have been the only adults around here for so long. We wanted someone to talk to and someone for the kids to play with."

"Of course. I'm afraid Rocky doesn't pay much attention to babies, but you guys can always hang out with us. And maybe some of the other couples have babies."

Monica smiled mysteriously. "Oh, I'm sure they do. We'll just have to get around to meeting them."

They talked to their new neighbors for a few minutes before Oliver said they wanted to see the other houses and excused them. They walked along a dirt road, looking at the homes on the left and right as they passed. The littles rested in the giants' arms, taking everything with a sense of unease. Three giants were bad enough, but now they were surrounded by an unknown number of them, possibly dozens. Even worse, some of them were kids and wouldn't have the same restraint as Oliver and Monica, which practically terrified the small couple. They were now the only real people in this entire world created within the wishing room, surrounded by artificial people, wish-people like Oliver, who seemed to be without the same emotions they had and capable of anything. Suddenly, they no longer just had to worry about being embarrassed but abused and maybe even physically tortured. If left unattended with one of the giant kids, they could be mishandled and even killed. They were now dependent on Oliver and Monica for their safety.

They rounded a house and discovered a family finishing breakfast on their backyard patio. There was a man and woman who looked to be in their 30s, a young teenage girl, a younger boy, and a toddler girl.

Oliver grinned sadistically as he approached them. "Good morning!" He introduced himself and his family.

The other man looked up, surprised. "Good morning. We're the Fieldings. I'm Jacob. This is my wife Megan, our daughter Rose, our son Aaron, and the little one's name is Piper.

Megan smiled at them. "Would you like to join us?"

Oliver glanced at Monica, the same cruel look in both their eyes. "Just for a minute or two. We've already eaten, but we've been walking for a little while, so it would be nice to sit down."

Jacob motioned to empty chairs near the table. "Sure, sit down."

The giants pulled the chairs up to the table and sat down, the littles in their arms. Monica smiled at them. "You guys have a nice house."

The Fieldings smiled back. "Thank you."

Aaron, the family's middle child, was eyeing the littles in the newcomers' arms. "Are those your babies?"

Oliver looked at him. "Yes, they are. This is Kevin, and that's Sabrina." The littles were both blushing furiously now.

"They look funny."

Jacob raised his voice just a bit. "Aaron! That's rude! I'm sorry about my son, guys."

The guests smiled and Oliver reassured his host. "No, don't worry about it. He's right, actually. They're not normal babies at all. They look like little adults, don't they?" Everyone nodded. "That's because they are. They got a little out of hand, and I had to show them who was boss and put them in their place. They're better off this way. It keeps them out of trouble, and I think they've learned to like it. Haven't you, Kev?" There was a silence as the little man resisted responding. "Kevin? I asked you a question. Don't you like being a baby?" He shot Kevin a threatening look as he spoke.

"Yes. It's not that bad."

"See?"

Jacob and Megan looked uncomfortable, but Aaron was amazed. "They can talk?! Cool! Oh my god, do they wear diapers?"

"Oh yeah. If they didn't, they'd wet and mess all over themselves."

By now, Rose, the oldest kid was interested too. "Aww, do you think I could babysit them some time? I watch Piper all the time, and I'm real good with her!"

Megan began to shush her daughter when she caught a whiff of an acrid smell. The other giant adults smelled it too. Oliver and Monica sniffed Kevin and Sabrina's asses, checking their diapers.

Rose crinkled her nose. "Did one of them poop?"

The two guests shook their heads. "No, we're all clean over here."

Megan stood up and moved towards Piper's high chair. "Let's check this one." She picked up the little girl and checked her. "Found it. Excuse me, I'll go change her."

Monica stood up. "Actually, I think it's time we got home and let you guys finish breakfast. It was nice meeting you, though."

After they walked away, Oliver looked over at his girlfriend. "What do you think?"

"We don't need a babysitter. We already have a nanny. But we might have already found our little ones a new playmate or two. I'm sure they're happy to hear that."

Kevin caught the sarcasm in her voice, meaning that she and Oliver knew exactly how uncomfortable he and his wife had been during that visit.
