Coffee with FG 8
Added 2021-01-30 16:09:29 +0000 UTCProbably gonna need a second cup of coffee this morning...
Anyway, the LS3 Beta is happening on Monday, February 1st. We’re 95% ready for it. I have just one or two more things that I want to get done and I’ll be able to compile and upload it. As with previous betas, it will not be available through the Wabbajack UI but it will be available for anyone to download and play. We’re expecting an avalanche of bug reports, so please don’t be shy. The beta is a very playable state - I have had zero stability issues and am optimistic that you’ll be able to play it from day 1.
One of the last things I wanted to get done was mostly automated MCMs and DynDOLOD and friends. The first is a work in progress and will be wrapped up today and tomorrow. The second is complete barring one strange issue where a specific type of tree has a missing bark texture when viewed from a distance. I’ll be fixing that if I can before the beta releases, and if not, shortly after the beta releases. It’s only really noticeable around the Falkreath and Reach areas and goes away when you get close enough, so it’s not a huge issue.
I’m also working on an update for D&D - 1.4.0 should be ready a couple of days after the LS3 beta releases. The update removes a couple of mods that were barely functional in the list and fixes several bugs, including the long-standing bug of RND hunger getting stuck. I’m also on the hunt for any other mods that might be interesting to include. SLSO may make the cut, I need to do some investigating and testing with that.
And that brings us to MOISE, which... well, sitting here sipping coffee, the more I think about it, the more I begin to wonder if MOISE even needs to be updated. It’s more or less exactly what I want it to be and doesn’t really need to be changed. So, for now, I think I’m going to leave it as is. Obviously if the list isn’t installable I’ll fix that, but I think we’re pretty safely into the territory of MOISE being “complete”. It also helps that it’s extremely resilient to mod updates - the only downtime it has had is when MW Modding History goes down temporarily. Kudos to the MW modding community for leaving up old files and not updating nearly as frequently as SSE mods. With MOISE being my least popular list, that also makes it fairly low priority to update. So yeah, “complete”, barring something revolutionary in the MW modding scene.
As for Atelier, that list is also in a good spot. There’s a few things I want to try out in the list to improve the graphics a bit more but after seeing some screenshots that people have posted, I think it’s good to rest for a bit while I work on LS3 and D&D. And as always, I’m constantly keeping my eyes peeled for new outfits to include in the list. Feel free to share outfit suggestions in the #atelier-outfit-sharing channel on the FG’s Modlists Discord server.
Here’s to another cup of coffee down and to major list updates.
Cheers.
