August 1st Update Is Here!

[DOWNLOAD]

Hey guys, pretty big update here.

The cameras are now separated into categories, since many new cameras were added.

Chest, Shoulder, and Head cameras are now accessible at any time, both on foot and in vehicle by a key press, and they are no longer a part of the regular list that you cycle through with V. The default controls to switch through the Body Cameras are DEL, END, and PAGE DOWN. Of course, you can modify them via Controls.ini located in the ViewPointV folder.

Here are the currently available cameras and the categories they are in:

Body Cameras (only available via a key press, not a part of the on foot/in vehicle cameras cycle)

On Foot Cameras (only available when walking on foot, switch using Switch Control (V for keyboard users))

Car Cameras (only available when driving a car, switch using Switch Control (V for keyboard users))

Motorcycle Cameras (only available when riding a bike, switch using Switch Control (V for keyboard users))

Helicopter Cameras (only available when flying a helicopter, switch using Switch Control (V for keyboard users))

Plane Cameras (only available when flying a plane, switch using Switch Control (V for keyboard users))

On Event Cameras (automatic cameras that are triggered on certain events)

Vehicle Entry Cameras

The On Events Cameras is a new category, it currently only has the Vehicle Entry Event that contains 2 cameras and, but more are coming soon!

On Event Cameras are basically scripted transition cameras that are triggered on certain events for about 2-3 seconds.

When an event occurs (for example Vehicle Entry), ViewPointV will select a random camera from those that you checked in the list.

Decheck all of them to completely disable Vehicle Entry Cameras.

Cameras from different categories with similar names are still different cameras with their own settings. They share a big part of the logic, but were also tweaked specifically for their corresponding category. That means that modifying settings of one, for example the Helicopter First Person Camera, the settings of another, for example the Car First Person Camera will not be changed, even if you're modifying Global Settings.

Other changes:

General

Menu

On Foot First Person Camera

Car Chase Camera received a major rework

Car Cinematic Chase Camera

Car First Person Camera

Chest Camera

Shoulder Camera

As usual, report any bug you found and help me improve the mod further.

Thank you, and have a nice weekend!

Known bug, already fixed in the coming update. Will release in q couple days

Ruslan Libin

My context hints don't show up when I have this installed, is there anyway to have them turn back on?

NoLatePizza306

Oh thats on me, I forgot to add the option to disable it. Will do.

Ruslan Libin

Hey just did this, and it works fine! Seems the other stuff is fine for now, Only thing is it still shows the reticle when aiming in a vehicle like car or motorcycle for me.

cy

Hey man. Try to remove all ini files in your ViewPointV folder, just in case. ViewPointV will automatically create them with default settings. Tell me if it worked.

Ruslan Libin

Hey in the new update, it seems mostly everything had been fixed. Although My game still starts and loads on cameras that arent even enabled/is locked on that specific cam. An immediate scripthook restart fixes the problem for that game session. The only thing still is the aiming reticle still visible even after disabled through the available menu. For example, it only shows when first person of a vehicle. I have tested this on motorcycle first person VPV and car first person VPV mode. When aiming, white reticle circle becomes visible only in those specific scenarios. Unfortunately for me i use first person alot on vehicles and shoot from them all the time. Also, Yes i do use auto switch on aim, but regardless of the option the reticle still seems to appear which is very annoying. Not sure if this info helps but still fun to play in other camera modes!

Hey, thanks for the detailed report. Can I ask some questions to help me recreate these bugs? Does the camera switch randomly without even pressing the SWITCH CAMERA key? Do you use Auto Switch On Aim? Can you elaborate on Motorcycle FP? It should have a separate menu for it. About the blur effect, did you disable them in CollisionFX? Maybe you are talking about the Depth Of Field? Try to disable it in the settings of the specific camera you're talking about.

Ruslan Libin

The body cameras (shoulder, chest and head cameras) are toggled by a key press (you can change it in Cintrols.ini). If you need help send me a message

Ruslan Libin

Hello, after some time playing it works mostly great and the new additions are awesome. Just a couple bugs I have experienced in my time: -Frequent involuntary camera switches (to cameras I would even have disabled) -Switching to random aiming cameras that were disabled in menu and had to go recheck and uncheck it to temp fix. -Motorcycle camera first person (no current option to disable) aiming reticle still visible, and no separate menu for it. Would love for this one to get fixed as I don't believe it was visible in the previous update -Random (almost blur/timecycle Camera effects occur randomly even after disabling) Other than that still real fun!

brother i am confused. i loaded up the game and V wouldn't switch cameras. it was stuck on the shoulder camera. am i missing something?

Hundo

On it

Ruslan Libin

Yes, it was removed as disabling it made the camera movement buggy. It is now toggled automatically depending on the vehicle you're in. For cars, it is constantly enabled, for motorcycles it is constantly disabled etc.

Ruslan Libin

Fix the plane first person camera, it's bugged

Юрій Стеценко

also did video stabilzation for 1st person vehicle camera get removed? I dont see it

jaydenwasd

No problem, will look into that.

Ruslan Libin

Also for the 1st person plane camera, the camera shifts to the right whenever I go in the configuration menu

jaydenwasd

The fov changes in and out very quickly

jaydenwasd

👋 What do you mean by "snappy"?

Ruslan Libin

Hi, The g-force sensitivity in vehicle 1st person feels snappy compared to the last version so can this be updated?

jaydenwasd

I appreciate it bro, no rush, great work

Giacomo

I was about to tell you that you can decrease the weapon sway and even make it 0 via the menu, but when I tested just to be sure I noticed that it is broken. I will release a small hotfix by tomorrow's evening (about 16-18 hours from now) that will fix weapon sway and other reported issues. You'll also be able to position the camera both globally and per weapon individually which will hopefully solve your second issue :)

Ruslan Libin

Just tried out the mod, the weapons in first person take up half the screen and move all over the place constantly. The last iteration where it was like an FPS game with the gun in the corner was much better imo I can't use this. I guess you are going for the body camera feeling though so idk. I'd like to have the motorcycle camera without the changes to anything else
