Ivan Guzman Photography #2
Added 2023-04-01 01:30:39 +0000 UTCAs a continuation of the previous post, today I'm sharing the second part of my December photo shoot with Ivan Guzman Photography.
After starting off the shoot in jeans and changing between a couple of shirts I brought with me, we moved on to a few physique shots in underwear. Ivan had set up a folding black backdrop for the fashion photos and decided to switch to a white one for the next group of shots. I wasn't sure how my skin tone would work against such a light background, but I think the photos have a visual softness to them that really works well!
As we finished up with the underwear shots, I was looking forward to shooting the next series of photos in the nude. Ivan had expressed interest in exploring a few concepts he wanted to add to his portfolio, including ones with close-ups of different areas of the body in addition to full-length shots. As I mentioned previously, this was my first time in a professional studio space and I was curious to see how shooting nude would look and feel in this environment.
I'm still in the process of reviewing the more than 200 photos from this shoot and am going to begin sharing the nudes in the next installment, so be sure to check back soon!

Thanks for the feedback, John! It was a great experience being ina professional studio; the lighting was amazing and because the photographer had his camera connected to a display, we could review unedited photos after each group of shots. When I shoot my self-portraits outdoors, getting a good shot requires a lot of skill and a little bit of luck. As model and photographer, I can't be two places at once, so I have to set up the shot and then hope I'm centered in the frame, in focus, etc. It's much easier to work with a photographer and because each of them brings a unique skill set and style to a shoot, the results are always different and unexpected. I'm looking forward to sharing the nudes from this shoot next. There are a lot of them and in both black and white and color. I think you will enjoy them!

How did the experience of being professionally photographed in a studio feel different from taking your own photos in a secluded outdoor setting? You look relaxed and confident.
