DRL Photography #2
Added 2023-04-20 01:45:11 +0000 UTCI've been steadily making my way through the more than 500 photos from my shoot with DRL Photography and tonight I'm ready to share more!
As I mentioned in my first post from this series, Dan from DRL Photography and I met up for a shoot at an upscale hotel here in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. We started the shoot with a few photos of me slowly undressing in the mirror before moving to the bed for these next shots.
I'd worked with another photographer in the past for a hotel room shoot in the afternoon, which also included shots in bed, but because this series was shot at night with very little supplemental lighting, the aesthetic is completely different. To be honest, I wasn't sure how these photos would turn out when we were taking them, as to my (untrained) eye it seemed too dark to capture much detail, but obviously, and unsurprisingly, Dan knew what he was doing!
I'm by no means a professional model, but I have to say, sometimes the whole photo shoot process feels kind of unremarkable. What I mean when I say this is that it didn't feel like anything special that night in the hotel room when we were taking the photos, but when you see the finished product, it definitely has a polish and added "fantasy" element. What was really just me lounging in bed, trying not to look awkward somehow turns into something magical through the lens of a camera when there is a talented photographer behind it. It truly never ceases to amaze me!
There are quite a few photos in this series in bed and if you're familiar with my work, you know I enjoy a slow reveal. I'll be posting the next handful of shots over the coming days and trust me, they will definitely be worth the wait!
