Eric G Brown Photography #2

Fall has arrived and, along with it, cooler weather.  A drop in temperature is the perfect subject for today's post, so let's dive on in!

I mentioned in my last post that working with Eric G Brown was both a one of a kind experience and a challenging one.  One of a kind because I'd always wanted to do a shoot like this, even years ago when I would fantasize about nude modeling but didn't think I'd ever actually work up the courage to do it, and challenging because on the day of the actual shoot, the elements were definitely not on my side.

After a little back and forth communication to work out the details, Eric and I planned the shoot for a Saturday in early December 2022.  Due to the fact that winter in my part of the world can be unpredictable, I began to pay attention to the forecast as the date drew near in hopes that the weather would cooperate.  There had been a spell of extremely cold weather in the week leading up to the shoot and, as you can imagine, I was hoping that it would warm up just a little by the time I was to be undressing in front of the camera!

Lucky for me, the temperature had warmed up slightly by the time the morning of the shoot arrived, but not by much.  Still, I was committed to putting my best foot forward and gladly joined Eric for the trip to the abandoned factory and warehouse in Burlington, PA, USA where we would be shooting.  I wasn't going to let the weather prevent me from this experience!

Although Eric had advised that I wear sturdy footwear like boots for this shoot because the floor of the buildings would be littered with dirt and debris, we hadn't really discussed any kind of wardrobe or theme to the shoot.  Due to the weather, I choose to go with function over fashion, and dressed ruggedly and with warmth in mind.  In the end, this choice kept me from freezing in between set-ups and also benefitted the photos stylistically, but it was a real pain getting in and out of the jeans, coat, and boots over and over again!

If you've ever wondered what it feels like to stand naked in the middle of a drafty building on a cold winter's day, let me tell you, it's something!  I'll go into more detail in the next post of this series, and share another batch of amazing photos, so be sure to check back soon for the continued adventures of my shoot with Eric G Brown Photography!
