Here's a selection of concept sketches, page layouts, linearts and coloured pages without the text for those of you interested in watching the creation process for this month's Book of Lust chapter.
So Tc starts out with the writing side of things: Putting together the script and scene directions, and I'll start with some rough sketches on the scenes that catch my eyes, zeroing in on layout, perspective and where the characters should be seen. Once I'm happy with that I'll start working on the line art, producing those bolder lines like the art is gaining confidence in itself. The longest section is the colouring. Like I can be colouring for weeks, trying to get the tones to my liking and keeping it consistent throughout. I suppose I could try and streamline it with more solid colourisation, but I consider this semi-water colour style part of my signature.
I have to admit the fantasies with the teacher and her friend Beth were super fun to draw, but I also enjoyed a lot designing the cute café for the last part of the chapter. I'm going to admit that I don't pay enough attention to backgrounds (because the sexy parts are faaaar more fun to work on. xD) but sometimes it feels good to focus on the more mundane things like that chairs, teacups and croissants (Mmmm... croissants. - Tc).
It's extra satisfying when it produces such a pretty scene.
