December 2024 content plan
Added 2024-12-04 20:10:13 +0000 UTCHi everyone, sorry this is late. I left doing my taxes to the last minute and had to slog through them.
As you all know, it's a festive month. I moved in with my partner this year and their family wants me to spend christmas with them all.
This leaves me with 3 weeks out of the month to do all my work in.
My home life is going more smoothly now, we bought a whiteboard for organisation and sorted out some glaring issues with the living space such as lack of storage and broken old stuff still lying around in the spare room.
I'm still not working from a proper office space, but we plan on changing that after moving to another apartment and finally getting a permanent place to live. I need a cozy, creative office space to work from for maximum efficiency.
Project 1
I plan on using the first week to completely cap off that monster hunter comic. I'm going to make 5 images.
P1- The hunter is hunting Plesioth for the village, and complains that it's all they ever hunt.
P2- The hunter finally caves and decides to visit the forbidden room.
P3- The hunter finds that the plesioth parts are being used to turn people into plesioth drones.
P4- The mermaid discovers the hunter and offers to turn them into a drone too. The hunter is a mess and hornily agrees.
P5- A lineup of Plesioth drones.
P1-4 will be in a simplified style, I should be able to knock out one per day as long as nothing absolutely wrecks my creativity.
P5 might take me 2-3 days in the worst case scenario because I plan for it to be fully rendered. This part will also be exclusive because money enables me to continue doing this for a living.
So you can probably expect the Plesioth drones by about the 9-12th.
Project 2
We're putting the Zola comic earlier in the week this time!
That way I can get stuck into it earlier without getting bogged down with commissions.
I realised a majour roadblock was me not being happy with my layouts. I know it's bad to go back and change things but I work slower when I know I'm making the problem worse. I have already annotated my layouts and started moving my sketches around to a layout that makes more sense, but I really wish I had an editor.
I'm wondering if it's a process thing? I keep reading Scott McCloud's guide and looking at the layouts for the comics I do own (The Crow, Bionicle, Fullmetal Alchemist) and I still feel like I'm missing something.
Either way, I'm going to study really hard and get that first opening sequence up until Zola is introduced looking how I want it. I don't want to promise a deadline, this is the one project I'm working on where "It's done when it's done" applies.
Project 3
Commission slots.
I'll open up the list, do as many as I have time for and then close the list. Subscribers all get first dibs getting on the list. I will announce the commissions publicly in a week.
My prices are on the discord but you're looking at about 40GBP($300BRL/$50USD) for something simple and 80-100GBP($600-750BRL/$100-130USD) for something fully rendered. For now I'm still charging in GBP but I will start charging in BRL once I have my bank account set up.
Ideas on the list will be treated like a sushi conveyor belt, I will make what I feel like making first and the ideas left over when I close the list will need to be resubmitted next time. You can maximise your chances of being selected by providing a clear idea of what you want including sketches, diagrams and reference. Asking me to draw things that cater to my specific kinks and niches is also an effective strategy for getting picked first.
Contact me via Bluesky or Discord, my DMs are open.
Thanks for sticking with me, here's to a productive month and happy holidays.
Oooh a poll option?
Ok then, I've been playing a lot of Atlyss and I want to take inspiration from it.
When I reboot the Genshin comic; The characters should be...
