Good source of defense too ,not that he was ever subjected to mind altering spells(that we know) but it could allow for other applications. I always wondered if Percy would start leeching on his hosts soul/memories for comprehension .having direct access to their soul,he could actually develop a way to scrub them clean for secrets and just general development( literally learn/download everything they know that is useful ) Perhaps that’s how he will develop Parasite spell. He usually goes for cooperation but there will be a time where he would want to kill his host and just hijack the body completely. They were dying anyway…might as well require a payment for a “revival”

Shouldn't be an issue since she's "on his side", but maybe she'll realize what we all started suspecting some time ago? (that experiencing life through many bodies and Elements will help him explore the Concepts when it comes time to)

Gonna go out on a limb here and say that another big benefit of rare affinities is that they all have some kind of secondary effect. Soul has spectral traits, Mind has mindsets, Beast has Mutations. OH SNAP ISNT PURE FUNCTIONALLY A RARE AFFINITY! I’m imagining Percy’s decree will be a fourth core tbh. Definitely needs to acquire psychic and life affinity! I understand that due to how the tattoos are alchemically treated and some inherent limitations, magiscript cannot be incorporated into them. What stops Percy from drawing runes directly onto his body with something like instantaneous formation though? If it’s because of the damage materials take from utilizing runes, the tattoos would surely help mitigate it so long as both were used at the same time? Even if the efficacy of the tattoos would be reduced from diverting energy to heal the mana burn, I imagine the overall result would be more than the sum of its parts. Mimicry might go a long way towards realizing this as well. I’m sure I’m missing some core mechanics of the power system that prevents this tho/have misread what’s already been explained. I’m sorry I ever wavered on the pure affinity front ✊. With four cores, Percy can have the big 3 + pure. This one has mistaken the forest for the trees. My deepest apologies. Pure affinity is goated and undeniably the strongest. Its unfathomable depths are truly titillating. PURE GANG RISE UP
