Tilaarin is holding their annual star-gazing festival on the rooftops of the spires, with the promise of themed market stalls, food and drink, and music. The highlight of the night is the passing of a rare, shooting star, which makes its journey across the night sky once a year.

Knowing June's love for constellations and the night sky, you invite him along to enjoy an evening of star-gazing with you. He's happy to accept your invitation, and in fact, you can't remember ever seeing him so pleased before.

The first thing you do at the shooting star festival is head for the market stalls, where vendors are selling beautiful, handmade crafts, as well as small trinkets to commemorate the evening. Very quickly, you realize that wherever June goes, he makes a bit of a commotion with the Tilaari, who are all eager to dote on him. 

After you're done looking through the stalls, you find a place to sit together in a big area that's been laid out with soft blankets and cushions, fragrant flowers, and spherical balls of dim light.

June admits that he doesn't know a lot about the Tilaarin constellations, but as you lay back against the cushions you spend some time pointing out particularly bright and interesting star clusters to each other while you await the shooting star.

Everyone suddenly goes quiet as a bright light blazes through the sky, June especially so, and you take the chance to sneak a look at him, smiling at the look of complete wonder and awe you find on his face.

A mere minute passes, and the star is gone, but the two of you remain on the rooftop, watching the night sky and talking quietly together for the rest of the evening.

If June is your LI:

You hadn't seen him do it, but after the star has passed, June reveals a set of beautiful handmade, silver bracelets he had picked up from one of the Tilaari vendors, each of them with three gemstones inlaid in the band that look like pure starlight.

He slips one around your wrist, and the other around his own, next to the bracelet he wears in memory of his brother. With a soft smile, he tells you how much you mean to him, before kissing you beneath the stars.

Vexx has been cooped up in his hospital room for far too long, and his boredom is showing. Hoping to cheer him up a bit, you invite him to attend the shooting star festival with you (with permission from the hospital staff, of course).

Upon reaching the rooftop gardens of the Isil spire, the two of you head over to the food vendors in search of dinner. You swiftly find yourself drawn to a stand selling a floral, lavender lemonade, and pick up a couple of traditional Tilaari dishes to share.

Vexx complains that the stuff isn't to his usual taste, quoting something about it being akin to "rabbit food", but you notice with no small amount of amusement that he eats every last bite.

After eating, you let yourselves get distracted by the various performers and ethereal musicians, enjoying getting lost amongst the crowd. You spend so much time exploring that by the time the shooting star makes an appearance, you've almost missed it! The two of you hurry to a spot on the railing at the edge of the rooftop, watching the star as it streaks through the sky and disappears from view, almost as quickly as it arrived.

You thought things between you might feel a little awkward, given your history, but are surprised at how natural it feels to spend time with him, and how easily things slip into that familiar, comforting vibe.

Vexx convinces you to hang around and get dessert with him afterwards, and while people start to filter away from the rooftop, and the performers pack up for the evening, the two of you hang out until the early hours, chatting and reminiscing about the past.

If Vexx is your LI:

As you lean forward against the railing, your eyes lifted to track the star's progress across the sky, you feel the warmth of Vexx's body as he comes up behind you, wrapping his arms around your waist and pulling you back against his chest.

With a whisper in your ear, he thanks you for inviting him out tonight, and suddenly you've forgotten all about the star, the crowd, and the entire world, as you turn in his arms to kiss him.

You wanted to do something nice for K, to thank him for everything he's done for you and Nerissa, so you enthusiastically invite him out to the star festival, feeling happy (and a little surprised) when he accepts.

He doesn't have much to say, to start with, more than happy to let you take the lead and guide him from place to place. 

People around you seem wary of his presence, offering forced smiles to cover the nervous glances and the whispers behind their hands. When you point it out to K, he admits that he understands their hesitation, that the people of Seleota will have only ever seen VTB's used for violence, and it can take time to change peoples perception of things.

That doesn't stop you from giving the rudest of onlookers a few sharp glares of your own.

After buying some food for yourself from one of the vendors, you notice K watching you eat, and when you apologize, saying it must seem so strange to him, he simply tells you that it's not a bother, and that he enjoys watching people. He finds it fascinating to see how the human body works.

You find a quiet set of tables and chairs together, where you watch the shooting star as it appears, blazing across the sky. K doesn't seem all that impressed by the sight, but then again, he isn't always easy to read.

When the night is over, K walks you to your door (you told him you're fine walking on your own, but he insisted) and thanks you for inviting him out, telling you it had been good for him to take a break from work, if only for the evening.

Wanting to know more about the shooting star festival, and the importance of the event in Tilaarin culture, you invite Ryona to join you for the evening, who is more than happy to be your companion and guide. 

You take your time exploring all the festivities together, with Ryona recommending which food to try, and pointing out some of the market stalls selling particularly special items, and it's not hard to see that she's an expert in both.

But it's when you reach a part of the rooftop set up like a circular dancefloor, surrounded by stunning white and blue flowers and balls of spherical light, that you notice Ryona truly beginning to glow, her mask of tour guide faltering as she takes in the sight. 

A group of musicians, playing beautifully delicate string and wind instruments, are set up on one side, while various festival-goers take to the space between the flowers to dance and twirl beneath the moonlight.

It takes less encouragement than you would have thought for Ryona to dance with you, and together you spend most of the night laughing and twirling to the ethereal music, until you hear people starting to exclaim that the shooting star is almost in sight.

You watch right from the dancefloor, surrounded by a crowd of 'oohing' and 'ahhing' onlookers. The rooftop is silent as the star passes, and once it's out of sight the music starts up once again, hopeful and energetic, and the two of you waste no time taking a spot on the dancefloor and resuming the fun.

Just before the star disappears from the sky, Ryona whispers to you that people will usually make a wish at this point for the coming year, and you turn to see her close her eyes and smile softly to herself.

With no effort at all, your wish comes to mind, and when you open your eyes again, Ryona is smiling at you and reaching for your hand. Forgetting the crowd around you, she leans in to kiss you softly, and declares with a whisper against your lips that she already has her wish.
