I'm creating a single placeholder for this month. I'll start work immediately on the next chapter, so I'm hoping to finally make some progress on the backlog, and get the next one out to you as soon as possible.
I just deleted the previous post because Patreon has redesigned the entire post creation interface, and the post wasn't charged.

2025-10-01 01:39:06 +0000 UTCYeah, mine's been at that for a long time now. Additionally, I'm about to unsub (it's Aug 31 today) and won't resub until there's a complete chapter. I've paid my dollar for every one of the complete chapters over the past couple years, and not a dollar extra.

My hope is catch up, the reality is most likely a partial and placeholders. I previously dropped my monthly contribution to $1.00, I would suggest doing the same for everyone else here.

I've basically given up hope on ever seeing real story progress again. Still, there is a little hope left. I really, REALLY hope I am wrong.

2025-08-21 04:03:14 +0000 UTCI am a big fan of E.E. "Doc" Smith's lensman series (and his Skylark one), and I see what you mean. I was looking at another site recently, and they mentioned a genre of story I hadn't clocked myself ... and that was the transformational/leveling up genre. It describes, I think, stories where the hero keeps on growing more powerful. In Smith's Skylark series it was with ever higher order of "beams" or "rays", and obviously in TSMs it is Dana's technology.

2025-08-08 21:41:47 +0000 UTCSuggestions, if you don’t mind, Tefler: Find synonyms for “amazing”. A word that’s used too often gets tiresome. Find alternates for “I’ve never seen anything like it” and “you have nothing to apologize for”. The term “sitting duck” is unlikely to be used by non-Terrans. The same goes for “cat got your tongue” and maybe for “break the ice”. As a writer myself, I often Google words to find synonyms, In some ways, your space opera reminds me of “Doc” Smith’s Lensman series. Very enjoyable.
