I think the quality of the Sami vs Kross match at Summerslam is going to decide whether or not WWE offers Kross a new contract. The biggest criticism fans have of Kross and why WWE might be hesitant to give him a push is he has a great presentation and a great character, but he is insanely bland in the ring. I think even you commented during their Saudi match how you wanted more out of him in the ring. There are guys like Jey who aren't great in the ring either, but at least his stuff gets great reactions. Gunther is a great heel wrestler who is able to get heat from the crowd when he does his slow control segments in a match. With Kross, crowds go actively silent when he takes control of a match because his stuff is plodding and uninspired. Sami has been the most consistent male performer of the last year and these Kross matches have been some of his weaker matches. Kross had bad matches with AJ Styles in late 2023 and had people believing AJ was a physically washed wrestler. That led to AJ bulking up and wrestling with a point to prove in 2024. You can count on one hand the number of actual good Kross matches in the last 5 years because they were against Balor and Gargano at their peak in NXT. This being Kross' weakness isn't surprising when you know that he was trained by Disco Inferno who was a 90s gimmick wrestler that never valued actual in-ring aspect. Someone who has the Vince Russo philosophy of "Crash TV" and how "the casual TV viewer doesn't actually care about wrestling".
