YouTube made me a student again...

It may sound a bit weird at first, but let me explain!
Of course, we are mainly producing lighthearted entertainment videos and funny stuff but in our opinion it's still very important to be educated about the topic. It does mean that the production time can be a lot longer than just hitting the record button and go, but it is the right thing to do for us. (* ̄▽ ̄)
So what we do is basically this: Our team collects titles and topics on a shared document (it really is a wild mix right now...). Then I sit down, choose one of the suggestions and spend the next hours and days reading articles, watching videos and writing down everything I can until I have a huge list of bullet points, folders full of pictures on my desktop and occasionally also fun facts and jokes between the lines. Obviously I can't talk about everything I learned in one video and sometimes certain points are not quite relevant for what I want to achieve or interesting enough, but I enjoy the process and think that this knowledge could be useful in the future, no matter what for exactly.
Next thing to do is stand in front of the camera, talk about stuff and retake me talking about stuff because I forgot what to say and retake me talking about stuff because I still can't pronounce this one word and reta... I think you get what I want to say. Sometimes we have to cut sequences out because I couldn't form a single sentence because I had to laugh too much (⁄ ⁄>⁄ ▽ ⁄ <⁄ ⁄)
It may vary slightly from video to video how we organize and execute specific tasks around the video production but one point always stays the same: the research. (⌒‿⌒)
To be honest I didn't expect it to be so much fun, but being able to learn about stuff you're passionate about is the greatest gift ever after all! („• ֊ •„)
