I remember watching that scene when he first gets the eyes and feeling uneasy because it's such a contrast to everything we know about his character. It almost made me certain that the chief was going to use the notebook and in some sense that his son was going to turn him into a monster, but his steadfast stance in his beliefs of killing being the ultimate evil prevented him from using it, giving him the chance to die happy (even it was a trick by his son). Death Note is one of my favorite series and I wanted to say that you are one of my favorite content creators right now. I really do enjoy other people's analysis of Death Note, but they tend to focus more on the intellectual battles in the series (which is great, I love those), but you bring a really human element to it that is missing from a lot of other analyses. I think you're my favorite creator right now, keep up the amazing work. R.I.P. the chief.
