[AMELIA]

What the hell is all this?

[DALLAS]

This is every rich eligible man that anyone in my family knows.

[AMELIA]

Dallas, Lucky is annoying sometimes- yes, but I still love my husband.

[DALLAS LAUGHS]

Not for you, Amelia. It’s for Keahu.

[AMELIA]

Eh? Why?

[DALLAS]

I take it Kris hasn’t said anything to Lucian yet?

[AMELIA]

About him and your sister? Yes. He says they are in a rough patch. And I say- how can you be in a rough patch so soon? It is his fault, isn’t it?

[DALLAS]

Rhiannon broke things off to appease Keahu.

[AMELIA]

To appease Keahu? Why should she care about her feelings?

[DALLAS]

She was getting insecure, so Rhi decided to cool off their romantic relationship to appease her. She didn’t want to be the reason their family broke up.

[AMELIA]

And she didn’t know by now that it’s been broken? It was broken before I died and still is now after I got resurrected. I could be brought back, but they still couldn’t make their marriage work? [AMELIA SUCKS HER TEETH] I told him to divorce her years ago. They are awful together.

[DALLAS]

I don’t like that Rhiannon was willing to sacrifice her own happiness for Keahu. Was it the right thing to do? Probably, but that’s my sister. I care more about her happiness than anything else.

[AMELIA]

Even at the expense of another?

[DALLAS]

For my baby? Yes.

[AMELIA]

Hm. So, what are we doing? Reviewing our options?

[DALLAS]

So you’re on board?

[AMELIA FANS HER HAND DISMISSIVELY]

I used to throw different women at Kris all the time and he wouldn’t bite. I have always wanted them to split.

[DALLAS]

That’s why you aren’t fond of her?

[AMELIA]

Kris is like a brother to me, so yes.. and she has flirted with Lucky a few times. I never let it go.

[DALLAS]

Ah, of course. And yes. We are reviewing our options. You’ve known her longer than I have, so I felt like you’d have a better idea on who’d suit her the most.

[AMELIA]

Which ones have the most money?

[DALLAS]

Good thing I made sure to find out their net worth.. What’s the range?

[AMELIA]

Nothing under a million for sure.

[DALLAS]

Okay.. that’s about half the pile gone.

[AMELIA]

Which one’s the darkest?

[DALLAS]

She has a penchant for darker skinned men?

[AMELIA HUMS IN RESPONSE]

Like Jacob’s papa. Just richer and more responsible. She’d be hooked.

[DALLAS]

Sounds like my ex..

[AMELIA]

The ex fiancé who cheated on you?

[DALLAS]

Yup, the one.

[AMELIA]

And what happened to him?

[DALLAS]

I have no idea. That man was dead to me the minute I moved out.

[AMELIA]

You could’ve sent her to ruin his life.

[DALLAS]

Please- he’d ruin hers. I wouldn’t wish that headache on anyone. Ooh- how about him?

[AMELIA]

He is handsome.

[DALLAS]

And a respectable age. He’s one of Cale’s college friends, but he’s moreso kept in contact with my father since Cale introduced them. He works in tech now.

[AMELIA]

Like with phones?

[DALLAS]

More like with military weapons. He’s loaded.

[AMELIA]

Sure but at what cost? Who offered up this one?

[DALLAS]

Daddy did. He would’ve had Val marry him had she not met Scott. That’s also why Cale didn’t recommend him..

[AMELIA]

And what does Scott do?

[DALLAS]

Hell if I know. I just know she wouldn’t let daddy tell her what she could and couldn’t do. She brought Scott home and made him accept him. It wasn’t much work though. She’s always been his favorite. Well.. second favorite after I was born.

[AMELIA]

And your other sisters?

[DALLAS]

Koi’s always been more of a momma’s girl. And Rhiannon… They were never too fond of her. Even as a baby, I just remember being with her all the time. I’m not sure what the issue was. I suppose they were burnt out by that point. That’s why they didn’t have any more after her. Hence our wide age gap. And after she got pregnant with Kaila- they had just about shunned her completely. I took care of her own my own after that.

[AMELIA]

You are very caring.

[DALLAS]

I try to be. Now.. how to set this up? Think inviting him to the Valentine’s Day event Kaila’s hosting at Opium would be too on the nose?

[AMELIA]

No. If he likes her, then he likes her. No matter the setting. And it is good. Kris would not come.

[DALLAS]

Rhiannon may.

[AMELIA]

Does that matter?

[DALLAS]

I’d rather keep her out of it. If she already feels guilty I could imagine that’d only make it worse.

[AMELIA HUMS]

Mm. Why?

[DALLAS]

This is setting up Keahu with another man to get her out of the way for Rhiannon. She doesn’t need to be directly involved in it. It’ll keep her conscious clear.

[AMELIA]

Ah. Fair enough. What do we do? We call?

[DALLAS]

Of course not.

Honey!

[AMELIA]

Ahh. Very smart.

[DALLAS]

Mhm. It’s his friend.

[CALE]

Are you two alright?

[DALLAS]

What are you two doing?

[LUCIAN]

He has been showing me more pictures of Lou when he was little. I’m grateful you all took so many.

[AMELIA]

I want to see too..

[CALE]

Let me go grab-

[DALLAS]

Honey, I need you to do something for me first.

[CALE]

What do you need?

[DALLAS]

Call Dennis Whittman and invite him to the event Kaila’s hosting.

[LUCIAN]

Dennis?

[CALE]

He’s an old college buddy. [DALLAS HANDS CALE HIS PHONE] Why am I doing this?

[DALLAS]

Well, we’re going.

[CALE]

And?

[DALLAS]

…

[CALE]

Honey?

[DALLAS]

I want to set him up with Keahu.

[LUCIAN]

Kris’ Keahu?

[AMELIA]

There is only one, dodo.

[LUCIAN]

Hush.

[CALE]

You told me not to get involved and here you are-

[DALLAS]

This is different! It is for my sister! Now, call him and invite him! Tell him there’s someone you’d like him to meet.

[CALE]

He may be seeing someone already.

[DALLAS]

He’s not. Daddy checked.

[CALE]

And why didn’t you have him invite Dennis?

[DALLAS]

An invitation to a lounge event would come better from his friend. It’d sound like a summons coming from daddy..

[CALE SIGHS]

Alright.

[DALLAS]

Thank you, honey.

[LUCIAN]

You are letting her bad behavior rub off on you, Dallas.

[DALLAS]

I think it’s the other way around. I’m the bad influence. What do you think about all this?

[LUCIAN]

The three of them should have sat down and had a discussion. We are too old for games.

[AMELIA]

Keahu would not like that.

[LUCIAN]

She wouldn’t, but it still should have been done. They care for each other. Neither one of them wants to walk away from the relationship.

[DALLAS]

Rhiannon thinks it’s the right thing to do.

[AMELIA]

It is a thing to do. Not the right thing. She should have just told her- eh. Actually, maybe not. She should let Kris tell her. She can attack him instead.

[DALLAS]

You think she would’ve tried to hit her?

[LUCIAN & AMELIA]

Yes.

[DALLAS SIGHS]

Well.. that’s concerning.

[LUCIAN]

They all need to talk together.

[AMELIA]

You think she will be mad at you too when she finds out the truth?

[DALLAS]

Oh, I’m sure she will be. And while I would hope that she’d understand why I couldn’t outright tell her what’s been going on- I’d understand if she didn’t. I do value and appreciate her friendship, but Rhiannon is my sister. This isn’t an easy position to be in. The same goes for you now, Amelia. Since you’re technically a part of the family.

[AMELIA]

Ah, I forgot. I am a Brice now. I have to follow suit, huh?

[DALLAS]

You do.

[LUCIAN]

That is a fake name..

[AMELIA]

Don’t be jealous.

[LUCIAN]

I am not jealous. You are still a Carranza. That new name is fake.

[DALLAS]

Legally it isn’t. And technically you two aren’t married either. You have no claims over her, Lucian. Unless the two of you got married again.

[AMELIA]

You have to propose the right way this time, huh. Or else I might say no.

[LUCIAN]

You’re already my wife.

[AMELIA]

Maybe I should look through this pile too-

[LUCIAN HUFFS]

[AMELIA]

You crybaby.

[LUCIAN]

Are you being serious?

[AMELIA]

Not really.

But I wouldn’t mind doing it all over again. I would want a nicer ring and a ceremony..

[DALLAS]

You could do a vowel renewal. That’d be beautiful.

[AMELIA]

Have you done one?

[DALLAS]

We did one last year for our 25 year anniversary. It was nice. Lucian came.

[LUCIAN]

It was nice.

[AMELIA]

I want one..

[LUCIAN]

We’ll look into it.

[CALE RE-ENTERS ROOM]

He said he’d be there.

[DALLAS]

Did you tell him about Ke?

[CALE]

No.. was I supposed to?

[DALLAS]

No, I’d rather they meet there. Pretend it’s somewhat organic. That said- do not tell Kris or Keahu about this. Not until after they meet.

[LUCIAN]

Will you tell Rhiannon?

[DALLAS EXHALES]

Eventually. Not yet. We’ll see how things go first.

[CALE]

Hm, she’s not coming? She doesn’t usually miss an event.

[DALLAS]

I don’t think she’d be in the mood to go. It’d upset her. Speaking of- remind me to send some flowers to her office and her mom. I don’t want her to have nothing-

[LUCIAN]

She.. wouldn’t have nothing.

[AMELIA]

What do you know?

[LUCIAN]

Nothing.

[AMELIA]

Tell me now.

[LUCIAN]

It’s nothing, Ame.

[AMELIA]

I will be sleeping at Annie’s house tonight then.
