Hey everyone! Finally a follow-up with Elle! I've been trying to do more with the effects on various posts because people seem to like that, so let me know if you think it's being intrusive in this story! This one's definitely going to have shorter sections than Eating Tournament because that section of my brain needs a bit of a rest.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Anne and Elle had been friends since they were kids. They were neighbors growing up and always used to play together. Since growing up, however, the two had grown apart. They still went to the same highschool and their Colleges hadn't been far apart, but even as they started going down similar paths in life (Anne into Fashion, and Elle with a modeling career) they drifted further and further, going from seeing each other daily to weekly, then monthly. Post-graduation, Elle's career was blowing up on her social media channels while Anne felt stuck working as an assistant to the assistant of a Fashion designer, a job that she had landed prior to graduating. Anne had always wanted to be a star as well, yet here she was watching it happen to her childhood friend instead.
It had been almost a year since they graduated when Anne realized she hadn't seen Elle since her graduation party. She decided to reach out and schedule a catch-up at her place. Elle accepted and for a fleeting moment Anne felt like she might have her friend back. Unfortunately, when Elle got there it was obvious that she was in full work-mode. Even though they were supposed to be talking and catching up, Elle had come dressed up like a princess (as usual) and was taking selfies and recording videos from the moment she arrived. Anne had been hoping to see her friend and renew some of the bond that had previously been there, but only 10 minutes in and she didn't know if that was going to happen at all. She decided to make a depression meal while Elle did her thing. She asked if Elle wanted anything while she was cooking. Elle replied, saying that she had had a whole bowl of oatmeal that morning and used that as an excuse to not have anything else throughout the day. Anne, knowing how Elle ate all throughout College, figured this would be the reply, and got to cooking enough food for two anyway.
