Various updates and next project announcement!

First, on SoW2-- MiNT is promising a new release shortly (next 2-3 days).  Said release will include a 3 province tutorial campaign, include Random Events and introduce tooltips so you have a better sense of what things on screen mean!  Next release will happen in second half of May and will offer Ministry/Minister feature set as the next expansion.

Also, I am continuing to write the novelisation for the above with some big bang final chapters to wrap it up.  I should be able to post more chapters later this week.  I have about 4-5 chapters to go to finish up but the current one is a big one, so taking longer.

OK, so after consultation with long time supporters, I'm proposing that the next project be a return to the beginning of SC world-- Corporate Raider.  This would be a re-boot that would incorporate all three original parts under one umbrella, with a consistent UI and be developed on a Unity platform.  MiNT will lead the dev and I will provide the content/narrative.  I'm calling the re-boot "Company Man" and it will offer both older, familiar faces, as well as new ones.  In general, the intent will be to build on those aspects fans originally liked-- the characters, storylines, policies and open world of CR3-- and enhance with voiceover talent, music and a more game-like experience that allows a player different paths to victory.  

We're just starting the process of designing all this and I have been brainstorming different mechanics in my head.  I'd like to hear what you'd like though, so if you have some comments/ideas/suggestions, please post them here:

In the past, we've had votes on different kinds of projects, then on live models if appropriate.  Based on feedback, I'm exercising imperial authority and just planting this flag on my own.  In addition, resources used in the past for a live model will instead go towards voice talent.  This doesn't mean we might not return to a voting-based dev decision in the future or that we're abandoning live models.  It simply means that for the next project, we're keeping it sweet and simple. 

I'm returning to the beginning because SoW2 is nearing completion and I primarily want to address the regular technical issues regarding playing the older games.  I also think there's scope for much improvement, both in terms of the original content, as well as addressing some of the more confusing mechanics.   It has been strange to return to the old Artemis Systems neighbourhood but I've already begun writing up new game event cycles that hopefully will make a return trip well worth the effort.

This is great! I really like old Artims line. I hope part of the plan is to refactor to HTML5 or some other code that does not rely on Flash, which is losing its support. (?)
