I'm excited to let you know that starting this week, Sebastian is now full-time with The Escapist. Super happy to have him aboard and it's more than deserved.

Well the scores and actually doing scores is directly tied to getting access. No score, no review code, and if you don't have a review for release or embargo end, you might as well be commenting on presidential polling in 1948.

2023-10-10 15:04:29 +0000 UTCReview scores of all kinds are a plague. Nobody needs to consume media so fast that they can't be bothered to spend a couple of minutes reading a review. And of course a single value (numeric, letter grade, whatever) can't possibly capture the whole complexity of a work. I've gone so far as to add CSS rules to my browser to hide review scores on sites where I read reviews for things, to avoid coloring my impression of the review before I actually read it.
