3 Minute Reviews Dedicated Channel + Major Milestone!
Added 2023-10-19 20:29:27 +0000 UTCHey folks!
First, I'm excited to announce that we've hit a major Patreon milestone this week with the increase in funding we've received over the last two weeks due to the recent addition of uncensored ZP videos as a perk here on Patreon and YouTube Memberships.
We're extremely grateful for the support and just inches away from reaching another internal milestone we set for this year in terms of how much money we bring in via subscriptions overall between YTM and Patreon.
I'm personally extremely proud of how much we've been able to build in just three years of this program, and I'm super excited for what we've got in store for 2024.
So again, thank you and welcome to the hundreds of you that have signed up over the last couple weeks!
Now onto this new channel of ours.
3 Minute Reviews Channel
On November 1st, we'll be launching a channel dedicated to our 3 Minute Review series.
This is an experiment that we've been mulling over for a few months now and have decided to move ahead with it to see if 3MRs perform better with a subscriber base specifically dedicated to viewing them.
You can subscribe early here: 3 Minute Reviews - The Escapist - YouTube
For a quick explainer - we love 3MR and while they do well on the main channel, our parent company wants to test them on their own channel to accomplish / experiment with a couple things.
A video announcing the change will go out on The Escapist proper soon.
1) Increased CTR (Click Through Rate) which will drive higher viewership through Search and the Algo. On the main channel, our personality driven content is our main driver, and 3MR is heavily driven by search views, so a channel specific may help with this. The CTR is determined by the amount of people that see the video in their sub feed and click through to it. A higher CTR rate means YouTube pushes the video more in your feed.
2) Expanding 3MR brand. As you've seen we've trialed History in 3 Minutes as a sub-show of 3MR and so a channel where the main draw is the 3MR aspect might do better than being on The Escapist proper.
3) If this experiment doesn't work, 3MR will move back to The Escapist proper, but we've been asked to try it from higher up so we're gonna give it a go.
4) We don't plan to do this for any other brands on The Escapist, and Stratos is a self-contained experiment at launching a new sub brand channel, so don't worry, we're not launching a million channels cause I can't run all that anyways.
Why doesn't ZP get its own channel, people will inevitably ask.
The reason for this is that our premium shows are all tied together via our Premium subscription model now, and not reliant on Search traffic like 3MR. Our core subscriber base is mostly interested in our personality driven content, and 3MR was always designed around being search driven.
There is no plan for us to manage a million different brand-centric channels for each show, that's why we have the model that we do now.
Comments
Running a channel like this sounds like absolute hell, but just know all of the new people you've brought on board are great, hope the new channel goes ok.
