Limbo and Inside both spring to mind! Both seem to also take a similar approach in terms of limiting visibility, and using sound rarely but precisely to make the game seem scary. I can also imagine a similar tension when designing the challenge of wanting to make players invested and feel like they're about to die but not frustrated by doing so too often.
