August 2025 summary

Time for another summary post! This time it's gonna be a much more positive one since there's nothing really bad to say about August, even my Volk vintage collecting hobby became more alive after being put on halt for almost two months spent without any buys.

August was a very nice and productive month, good enough to compensate the lack of content I had during July hiatus and it was even better than most of the other recent months which I can't call overly productive. Even despite I was on a very embarrassingly long videogame binge this month and managed to beat Lunar Silver Star Story, Lunar 2 Eternal Blue and Cosmology of Kyoto, I still did whole 6 artworks, not all of them are packed with a plenty of horny edits but it's still better than how I was working before (eventually you'll learn about these Lunar games a bit more because it has one character that I'm planning to draw in nearest future)

-The month started good with a gargantuan compilation of all my NES materials I made in July and the finally finished Kangoo commission I was dragging on for three weeks throughout the same month. For me this comm didn't feel like anything really special and outstanding but I see people liked this one a lot so I guess it was a good start for sure.

-Then a very significant event happened: I finally changed my style to fully digital which I was thinking about for quite a while. All the reasons and my thoughts on this were already described in an Ollie Gaytor pin-up post I published earlier so I'm not gonna talk about it all over again but for me it was a very important milestone and hopefully it will help me to work more efficiently, faster and make more visually varied and colorful artworks.
That Ollie Gaytor piece was the first artwork of such kind and results were very satisfying. It also was nice to go further with embracing my love for scalies. I still love mammals and humans way more but there's a plenty of exceptions with reptiles and I think it's good that I finally paid it some attention in art, not to mention how unfairly little Ollie Gaytor art is made.

-After this I thought I need to finally deal with that long drawn Tarzan sequence. The main part was made whole two months ago and I just couldn't wait to finally post it publicly which just required this sequence to be fully finished and thankfully I managed to do this in August as well. Since this sequence was started long before my style change decision, I had to return to pencil again but it's not like I totally hate it and these other two artworks still turned out really great and now I feel proud of being the first person to ever make such an exquisite and really kinky artwork of Tarzan.

-In-between these two Tarzan pieces I also finished new Lucky Luke artwork, the first part of the sequence I was thinking about for a long time and this is also my first personal Lucky Luke artwork done after hyper muscular Luke pin-up drawn as a commission a year ago. It was my second attempt at realistic digital shading after Ollie and it left me no less satisfied with the results. It's sad that I couldn't post this one publicly though because summer is the most fitting time to post cowboy stuff but my plans are a bit mixed up and all over the place recently with all the parallel ideas going on and I didn't want Luke's piece to come before or between Tarzan pieces in my socials and now it's a bit too late. But whatever, it's not fatal, hopefully I manage to finish it in September.

-One day was especially productive with whole 6 sketches being drawn in a row, one of them is already turned into a full artwork which I sadly didn't manage to post by August 31 it's not fatal either. Sorry for not posting them even though this is my Patreon where it's better to post everything I do, I just really don't like how rough my sketches look, I'm not very good at making them aesthetically pleasing so I prefer to post the things only when it's 100% complete. I was posting sketches here years ago but now it just feels embarrassing.

-Also you probably noticed that I finally started posting my old NES materials publicly. I cleaned them up a bit compared to old Patreon versions, the first cutscene with fat Zed got a new dialogue box and more original font, I wanna post all the food themed world assets as proper layout sample images ran through emulators similar to how I did it with Tricky Dicky Adventures level assets but it will take some extra time because I did nothing in past to prepare my asset sheets for this and now I have to do it.

For now I did only one layout sample converted into rom and tested on emulator, the same stuff should be done for all 5 food worlds plus bosses (except rice dragon, thankfully he was already exported as a rom file). But now I'm off the pixel art hook and trying to keep it a secondary side thing after regular art, the way it should be, and it's hard to tell how much time it's gonna take me. So that's all the pixel stuff I did in August, well, I also worked on a 6th world assets a little bit but it's still not done, I'll cover everything when I get enough material for a new post.

Financially, all my efforts got paid back pretty well too. After that drastic fall in the end of July, my Patreon earnings almost managed to go back to June levels, hopefully it will remain the same, I feel like September is gonna be no less a good month too.

I hope you enjoyed this month as well, hope you won't miss my pencil style too much and that the recent abundance of human characters doesn't bother you, sorry, I just can't help my mood. I still like furries obviously, I look through my list of favorite characters and think "Damn, I'd so much like to draw Decker, Volk, Legoshi, Louis, Throttle from Biker Mice, Elliot from Open Season or Bambo" but it's just hard to keep up with everything. September gonna have some human art as well but I'll make sure to put some furries alongside.

Also the only sad thing about August is that I left my old June ideas with Ollie Gaytor inflation and Volk x Volk Dad unfinished. They could make great sequences and I thought to go back to them in August as well but it was beyond my capabilities. Maybe I'll manage to do something about it in September but I can't promise for sure, September plans already promise to be quite overwhelming.

Thank you for all your support and making my life better! It's always nice to see my work being meaningful and bringing more people here.

I'll be patient and wait for you to do it when you're good and ready, but oh my lord would some Biker Mice from Mars material be so... Damn... GOOD! 🀀
