a story about Bruce and Leon.

with these two characters being the center main plot of the story, I can't say too much, but ill try to keep it interesting :3
these two are characters me and my brother played in D&D.

I made Bruce as an NPC, which sadly led to him not getting much development, except for when he talked with Leon.
Bruce is a supporting personality to the point of neglecting himself, Leon would sit down and often ask Bruce what he wanted or if he genuinely felt strong or accomplished for being given power from his team member's magic, which was a huge crutch of his, Bruce would often overlook issues he had with others to keep the peace, and Leon would be there to remind him that it's ok to care about yourself, that growth made on your own two feet and in a direction Bruce desires for himself is what he should ultimately aim for, and that if they genuinely cared for him as Bruce does for them, they'll stay with him.

Leon...
He was a raging beast of war and battle.
He loved killing and didn't fear his own death, welcoming it if someone could do it in a fight, wanting nothing but to grow stronger from every fight.
Then something happened to make him have higher intelligence than most.
This confliction with his nature led him to seek new growth.
The dialogue from Leon was now philosophical in nature and led to a line from Leon to Bruce that's stuck in my head to this day.
"I think you should make a point of finding who you are as an individual, before you become lost in the identity of "Ironhaven's Archer" you want to give everything to them? Then maybe you should make sure of what it is you are to even offer up."

Both of these characters were heavy self-inserts of my brother and me back when we made them.
Playing as them helped both of us through a very rough time and to work through deep issues.
I love my brother, I write both Leon and Bruce from the heart, and I hope it will show.
