[BoofVR] Alpha Update v0.4!

Hello everyone! :)
This came bit later than expected, primarily because things are kicking back into plans and I've been going over a few things to restructure how BoofVR will be continuing for this point on.



First and foremost, thank you all for your patience, I sincerely apologize once again that I haven't been very active at keeping BoofVR going the last couple of months due to personal issues and was demoralized from continuing the project further. I realize that I wasn't very happy with the overall visual direction of the project either, in which has been bothering me for the longest while, thus this last entire month I've been researching and testing a few different styles to update the game's visual aesthetic with what I'll be more happy with. But I think we've got it now! It's still a work in progress, but it's heading towards the right balance of being stylized and detailed altogether! I would love to hear thoughts on this from all of you as well in terms of visual aesthetic of the character update. Please feel free to commend and share your thoughts as you please!

What's Changed?

This update isn't a big update by visual. It's a small update to preview the very base of mouse and keyboard controls, new settings, menu fixes, and loading levels. However, there's a lot more that happened for the backend support for the mouse and keyboard controls, and we're looking forward to expand upon it further after we've done our planning, which you'll see on the 2021 roadmap! Here are the changes, meanwhile:

What's Next?

I'm currently finalizing the roadmap and notes I'll be sharing with all of you for what's to come for BoofVR. With consideration of new visual style and re-planning of the project occuring, this required some time to lay out. All characters that currently exist in the project will be removed and updated with the new style, and while this happens, new features and interactions will be focused on to flesh out the experience further.

BoofVR will not just be a touching-simulator. Player to character immersive interactions and stories will be developed, and much more later. An immersive, explorative visual novel? I'm not sure what to even label it myself, hahah!

That'll be the teaser for now, until the roadmap drops within this coming week. <3

Hey I'm a new user and I can't quite extract the .dll file, can anyone help me or am I being dumb? Edit: Nevermind my question was answered above by TsarTheSecond... heh I'm kinda retarded.

Are you using oculus hardware in SteamVR, or running through OculusVR? I don't have oculus hardware to test, any info you can provide is helpful. As for smooth locomotion, that is being worked on!

I dunno if it just me but i noticed in Oculus, my hands versus the virtuall had a rotation offset and and length position offset. I'll do more testing. Also, I got to say the sushi bar is really awesome. The mood is great and visuals amazing! Also, im wondering if you plan on adding smooth locomotion. I think it would be awesome to fine tweek our player position around the Boofs during interactions.

I sent you a DM, but I would really love to get involved with the development of this project. I'm super impressed with what exists now, and I wanna help this project any way I can.
