Naruto: The Outsider's Resolve: Story Re-Work
Added 2023-02-10 11:40:04 +0000 UTCHi guys,
So, I'm going to make one little change to the story. It's nothing too big, but it's also not small?
Depending on when you became a patron and began reading on Patreon, you might have read a different version of CHAPTER 64.
In Version-1: Takuma came out as pretty dumb by disregarding genjutsu because of his prejudice even though he knew that genjutsu didn't work well on him.
NOTE: This version is still present on Patreon.
In Version-2: Takuma, knowing the genjutsu doesn't work well on him, considers genjutsu, but decides not to invest in immediately because he doesn't know that genjutsu not working on him would translate to learning ability— and decides that Doton(Earth Release) jutsu is a better option to focus upon as he definitely know it to be affinity— and thus will be a safe and sound mission point investment. But makes the plan that the next time he has mission points to spare, he will buy a D-rank genjutsu.
NOTE: This version can be found on all public forums.

I'm going to be following Version-2.
And because of that, some changes need to be made. The change will come in the form of Takuma's jutsu choice after his Ring payday. He choose:
- Doton: Jihibiki Kansei no Jutsu (Earth Release: Earth Tremor Sense Jutsu) | C-rank jutsu.
- Suiton: Hachi Shokushu (Water Release: Eight Tentacles) | D-rank jutsu.
The change is that I will be replacing Eight Tentacles with a D-rank genjutsu. This change will come in CHAPTER 81.
—
TL;DR: Making some changes. Read CHAPTER 64 on public forums and Patreon to see differences. Public version is not the official. Will be editing CHAPTER 81 soon. Look forward to it.

PS: Next chapter coming today as well.
PPS: If you guys have doubts, put them down below.

Ah no, it will be nothing like that. Takuma isn't going to be super genius pioneering the world of genjutsu right from the bat. In Chapter-64— Ebisu says that Genjutsu is more like iryo-jutsu where studies is important before you can take full advantage of it. I also agree that imagination is the core of genjutsu. BUT, I also believe that you need a lot of genjutsu expertise to give "life" to the imaginations. If you don't have enough skills, having an active imagination won't do you any good. However, I do think that pre-made genjutsu exist. They tell you how to mold chakra and how to "take over" the target(and their senses/chakra)— so that you could put that certain type of genjutsu on the target. For example, Nenro learnt a pre-made genjutsu [Genjutsu: Shibari(Binding)]— that scroll showed him the hand seals and the technicalities that allowed him to force the imagination of being tied-up on his target of choice.

Not some strange D-rank genjutsu... I think there must be information about genjutsu ranked, not just some jutsus. Cause again, it is more about imagination and so on... If genjutsu will be like "I cast this and somehow, magically, my opponent feels his worst nightmares, cause this is how this D-rank genjutsu works" I will be disappointed.

2023-02-10 18:03:45 +0000 UTCWell, not disregarding genjutsu for irrational reasons is good, but learning D-rank genjutsu... I don't know how you look at it, but I think that there is really no such thing like D-rank genjutsu. It is something about imagination and so on. How can genjutsu be limited to D rank? Moreover, I think it is really different from ninjutsu. And even though many people from the original Naruto don't disregard genjutsu, list of genjutsu users is small. It is really something big and I am not sure that it is wise to put it like that in some previous chapter.
