I am immensely bored and can't sleep so I'm gonna analyze these until I can. In the opening he's analyzing an extremely obscure Charles Bukowski poem called "The Cigarette of the Sun". At-least I think it's a Bukowski anyways. The poem itself is pretty much the definition of a bad trip. Violent imagery in every stanza, and constant reminders of imminent trauma, it practically hums with agitation. The poem briefly uses Spanish for dramatic effect, but ends on a strangely positive note. It foreshadows MUCH to come, with it's themes of madness, and nihilism. Bukowski himself has a few quotes that you could reasonably argue was the inspiration to a panel or two. The art is excellent, I like the use of a darkening in the color pallete to represent a darkening of Austin's mood. You can literally see the stress almost engulf him, then melt away. It's a great visual representation of an emotion. Anyways, here's the start of "Austin can't use his lighter while stressed" tick. It's Frozen that makes him happy at the end. Maybe that's intended to be somewhat ironic but I doubt it.
