They really thought of everything down to the detail of the cars matching the characters. This was filmed brilliantly, with all the talking and running around you miss what characters are missing from different scenes. The 4th ended does sound to dark for a comedy 🀣

Oh That is amazing so not everyone would see the same ending, i don't think anyone has ever done that before

If you rewatch, it is pretty accurate. Mrs. Peacock isn't in the doorway of the billiard room when they go to Yvette. Yvette is never in the kitchen when they find the cook, and between when they first enter and when Colonel Mustard says that Mrs. Peacock was the one with the dagger neither she nor Professor Plum are there. Everyone else is killed while they're searching the house, so we never see all of them together and anyone could have slipped away briefly to kill someone. The only exception to this I've found is Mrs. White. You can still hear her screaming upstairs when Yvette is coming downstairs. This leaves almost no time for her to already be in the billiard room before Yvette enters. We only see the cop for a moment before it cuts back to Yvette. Fun facts: The Singing Telegram girl was played by Jane Wiedlin who was the rhythm guitarist for The Go-Go's and Mr. Boddy was played by Lee Ving who is the lead singer of Fear (a punk band that has been around since the 70s and had a memorable performance on Saturday Night Live in 1981). All the characters cars are their colors (which I thought was nice since I expected it to be their clothes). There are actually passages on the game board between the conservatory/lounge and kitchen/study. The reason you see some repetition at the end is because what Alva noted about the theater copies. The different endings start at the point when Wadsworth turns off the electricity, so anything after that was its own ending. Some theaters labelled them A, B, and C so that you could go back and know you weren't seeing the same one again. There was a 4th ending that had Wadsworth kill everyone, and he is missing from a lot of the movies to make that possible. For example, he's not shown in the study from the moment Professor Plum checks Mr. Boddy to see if he's dead until they run out of the room to check on Yvette. He's also not in the kitchen until Colonel Mustard asks him to explain himself (which is when you might notice that Peacock and Plum are no longer standing in the kitchen doorway). The 4th ending was scrapped because it was too dark.

Fun fact, when this film was released, they sent different endings to different theaters. They combined all the endings when it was released for home viewing.
