Scene: A cozy restaurant. Pete sits across from his girlfriend Sandra and fidgets with his spoon. His eyes dart around the room as if he's looking for an escape route.

Pete: So, uh, Sandra... I’ve been thinking, and... I don’t think things are working out between us.

Sandra looks at him blankly for a long moment.

Sandra: Really?

Pete: Y-yeah. I mean, it’s not you, it’s me. You’re amazing, really! But I just think maybe we’re too... different. Like, I'm just an average, ordinary, boring dude, and you’re really into your, uh, witchcraft, and... uh...

He gulps, too nervous now to speak. Sandra gives him a reassuring smile.

Sandra: What's wrong, Pete? Did you think I'd turn you into a toad or something?

Pete: Well... maybe. I’ve seen what can happen, when you're upset...

Sandra: Relax, I'm fine. I understand. Sometimes things just don't work out.

Pete breathes a huge sigh of relief.

Pete: Oh, thank God! You're not mad?

Sandra: Not at all. In fact, just to show there are no hard feelings, I'll give you a couple of nice, big parting gifts to remember me by...
