Compact Zoom for Travel?

The images above were all captured at the 20mm Focal length when using the Sony FE 20-70 F4 G on my recent travels to Bali.

I own both the Sony FE 20-70 F4 G and the Sony FE 24-50 F2.8 G, which I find are an ideal size when working with the A7CR and A7CII cameras. They don't take up a lot of space in my Pilot 7L sling/messenger bag. I can, however, only take one of them with me when travelling light, as I need to leave room in the camera bag for a second camera body and telephoto lens (I also packed the FE 70-200 F4 Macro G OSS II and 1.4x Teleconverter).

In making my decision which standard zoom to take with me to Bali, I had to choose between the wider aperture of the F2.8 zoom or the larger zoom range of the 20-70 zoom. When using the FE 24-50 F2.8 G on the A7CR I find I can get a tighter angle-of-view by either shooting in APS-C mode or cropping in post, so the significant focal length advantage between the two zooms is the wider 20mm angle of view of the FE 20-70 F4 G.

For my recent two-month trip to Bali I chose the FE 20-70 F4 G and packed my FE 50mm F2.5 G, just in case I needed a wider aperture in low ambient light or a small lens when just out walking without a camera bag.

The 20mm Ultra Wide-Angle of view of the FE 20-70 came in useful on many occasions for events (sometimes crowded and where I sometimes needed to raise the camera above the people directly in front of me to document what was happenings) and landscapes, where I needed a wider angle of view than is offered by the 24-50. These are just some of the images I captured using the 20mm angle of view.
I will prepare another Patreon travel seminar about my recent trip to Bali (often described as an 'island paradise' ) when I get some time over the next few months.

Mainly just my standard set of adjustments using the Basic panel. The ones that I have outlined in my Post Production editing seminars that you can find in the Post-Production Editing section found in 'Collections'.

What sort of LRC adjustments have you made to your photos shown here?

Not using the Pilot 7L yet but do take my A7CR, A7CII, 24-50/2.8 G, 70-200/4 Macro G II, and 16-25/2.8 G. Some times I will take the 16-35/2.8 GM II, and the 70-200/4 instead. Haven’t bought into the 20-70/4 G yet. Keep these coming. Thank you.
