Want to do a quick check in on using MEGA as the current hosting platform for Patron exclusive content~!
I've been aware over the last few months that people are running into some issues watching or downloading content due to the transfer limitation. Want to get quick feedback on your experience so far. I have personal reasons for wanting to use MEGA, as I think it offers some really good features to both myself for content archiving, member access, and piracy prevention, but ultimately my priority is always the user experience for you all.
Let me know how your experience has been using MEGA below, either watching on the site, or downloading videos directly. I'll see what I can do to make sure content access is enjoyable as possible for you all <3

Maybe I'm in the minority, but I find Mega very easy to use for this. I've got a free account there, and I use the desktop app, but I can just select the files that I want and batch download them, no problem. I'm not getting limited by download rate or file size, even pulling down a lot at once.

2025-02-21 20:26:58 +0000 UTCThe only time I ever had an issue with mega's file size limitations was when I downloaded a bunch of files the same day and hit their cap, but you can get around that by using a VPN and cycling through locations. As long as you don't actually reload the page your progress stays

2025-02-21 19:52:17 +0000 UTCThe trick to MEGA is to make a free account and before Downloading to save the content to your own cloud-drive, then you can _sync_ it to any local device, even the whole main folder without any limitations. But yeah, direct download sucks harder then you did while watching the latest cow hypno!

2025-02-21 19:50:22 +0000 UTCOk! Although I wish you'd be able to download *anything* you want whenever, there might be an acceptable compromise. Either way I hope to have a short term solution in the next day or two and then a longer term solution soon <3

2025-02-21 18:13:22 +0000 UTCi don't recall ever running into issues while using the desktop app and only about once or twice on mobile regarding transfer limits. i am fine with mega, but it is important that the most amount of people have smooth and easy access

2025-02-21 17:43:27 +0000 UTChad 2 pay a monthly subscription to mega just to watch any of the content here which really sucks :( doesn't help that there isn't a transfer limit tier either, had to buy pro for the $12/month or whatnot, which is a little insane to be just downloading/viewing videos off mega :(

2025-02-21 17:40:35 +0000 UTCThe download issue seems to only be a problem if you want to download more than one of the larger files at a time. If you just download one or two a day it works fine. At least in my experience. It's not the most convenient but it's not unmanageable
