[FULL REACTION] The Batman (2022)

I noticed you laughed at a line from Alfred early in the movie “my time in the Circus”, not sure if you know “The Circus” is the internal nickname for British Foreign Intelligence. Implying he was a retired spy. Oftentimes it’s Batman lore that Alfred is a retired Special Forces medic.

One important thing....react or watch on your time the deleted scene. It's Batman going to Arkham to seek help and insight in finding Riddler....from the Joker. Extremely creepy version, based on a certain version of the comics written by Brian Azzarello and illustrated by Lee Bermejo. They might have overdone the look for some people. They may or may not tweak it a bit in future movies. Watch it, it's really good!! I liked it. They NAIL the Batman/Joker dynamic.

This movie felt the most like the comics to me, in the mood, the vibes, the ambiance at least, the grimy dirtiness of Gotham, literal and of its soul. A very early Bruce in his quest, Pattison's Batman was perfect, and this Catwoman was not antagonistic, but I loved Zoe's version and her vibes with Pattison. Gordon and Alfred were great. This version of Riddler is much darker though, I really enjoyed the performance, creepy serial killer aura for real. Too bad we still gotta wait for more of this universe, but at least Penguin delivered and more.

I knew The Penguin was gonna be good, with the people involved, but I never, EVER, expected it to be what it turned out. Everyone was blown away. Their version of Penguin fits right along the best of the comics, but as with Heath Ledger's Joker, Colin Farrell's Penguin was elevated into the quintessential greatness of the character. It felt like reaching enlightenment for both the Joker and Penguin.

This movie was SO GOOD! I've been wanting to watch it for so long, and finally managed to sneak it in this month :') so excited to get to watch The Penguin next!

This is my favorite batman movie after the Dark Knight trilogy. I enjoyed your reaction. I too like the dark, creepy (grim, gritty) feel. I like how early in the movie integrates that Nirvana song. Agree that Zoë Kravitz is fine (beautiful) in this. I liked her dad back in the day as a singer/guitarist.
