“Do yous think that’ll work?” 

”How will she react when he tells her about what we just did?”

“Yah she may crack the shits.” 

“Girls, he’ll barely remember this conversation…or even seeing us being here. But the doubts will be there.”

“So this will break them up?”

“I don’t know. I actually don’t mind if they’re…whatever. Together. ‘A couple’. I just need her to leash him, so she can focus on the task we put her here to do.”

“Take over the fucking city? Because that’s bloody well what it looks like she’s headed for.”

“Sammi watch your tongue when you’re speaking to the mo-” 

A hiss, a baleful stare. Silver hair flashed to a sickly green.

“Sammi no!”

“Don’t worry, Emily, it’s fine. It’s true. There are some factions of us that are becoming nervous, seeing what’s happening here. The politicians are concerned that the - what have you been calling them? - the ‘queen bees’ may have more sway over the population than anticipated.”

“Fucking up the voter base, yah?”

“That…is the concern. They feel that having constituents more loyal to their ‘hive’ than the new government could become…problematic.”

“And I bet the KOLECTV scientists are nervous because the effect she’s having is becoming unpredictable. These subjects now all have droplets of the Great Pleroma’s fullness and they don’t know how to control it.”

“Yes, that’s also true.”

“And even though the three of us are getting stronger, the sisterhood doesn’t like witchy mojo inside all these uninitiated, giving them their wonky powers?”

“Correct. Especially with the male.” 

“So why don’t we just squash him like a bloody bug? Crush his mind or whatever?”

“He is starting to seem like…some sort of insect, a pest.”

“No, not yet. Somehow he fuels Melissa.”

“And you want to see how far it takes her?”

“Yes, I think that could be very valuable. We need her to maintain control over this hive, but she could also be a huge asset in establishing domination over the male race-”

“Oh haha is that bloody all?”

“...but she needs to do it without letting her feelings for him get in the way. She’s an example for the movement, everyone here is. If this experiment is successful it will prove what the Product can do.” 

“And if she grows into Queen Fucking Kong and starts shooting laser beams out of her eyes?”

“If things get out of hand, she may need to be nullified…or eliminated.”

In a pause, the three young witches’ gazes went to Olivia, as if looking for some break of emotion. None was there.

“Wow. That’s cold.”

“What would happen to the rest of them? The ones feeding on her pheromones? Without her, what will happen to them?”

“The ones that haven’t been on Program? They’ll likely die.”

“Holy shit. Bonkers.”

“That would end everything here?”

“Him too?”

“Yes.”

“Basically, yes.”

Finally, the tallest of the three sisters spoke up. Her powers, more even than the others, had been growing immense here at Far Horizons. 

“Pity.”
