The most common bias in recruitment is overrating a player based on how they perform against your own team. It's a key reason data-led recruitment exists to guard against this. Some of our fans seem convinced that Miovski will “come good,” but that belief is based almost entirely on a handful of games he played against us (and maybe them). Those matches are obvious outliers in his career — check his record if you don’t believe it. Kevin Nisbet is statistically more dangerous from open play than Miovski ever was, even during Miovski’s best spell at Aberdeen. Would anyone feel comfortable if our success depended on Kevin Nisbet? It all highlights the same attitude among too many of our supporters — snap judgements about a player’s quality, followed by complete refusal to accept any evidence that challenges their first impression. He's gash!
