Weekly Update - 4/9/25

Strange week. The weekend definitely got away from me at the Magic: The Gathering event I ran, because the person who's usually my helper for that event was out sick, and I was left running the whole thing on my own, which complicated stuff and left me a bit more exhausted than I normally am. I had trouble getting the most recent Phil (QT:PT) chapter to do what I wanted to, but it's out now and I think it's good enough.

The problem was this other idea hopped into my head and decided to set up camp and cockblock me doing any other work until I put at least some of it out onto paper, so I've been hammering away at that as well. That'll drop maybe late tonight, or otherwise definitely tomorrow. The poll chose a return to Threadbinders for Friday, so I'll try and get that done for Friday or Saturday, although I have to give the flatmate a lift to the airport early morning on Saturday. (Like, much earlier than I like, but fuck it, I'll live.)

And while the news has been one truly epic shitshow after another (looking at my retirement fund has brought me to tears a couple of times), there's also been some relatively cool things to look at. You guys see that "Tron: Ares" trailer? I'm more hopeful now than I was before. Still a little leery, but holy shit, that NIN music? That's sooooooooooo good. And the trailer for 'Love Death + Robots' season 4 dropped as well. Plus, the first episode of 'Lazarus,' the new project from 'Cowboy Bebop' creator Shinichiro Watanabe aired, and I'm all over that. And 'Bosch: Legacy' is back! Plus, the new season of 'Leverage: Redemption' starts up in a couple of weeks. And how about that 'Severance' finale? Man. It's all crazytown.

I'm also glad to see a bunch of you have enough faith to shift over to yearly subscriptions, because frankly I wasn't sure anyone would be interested in that, but some of you are, and I say thank you. I also figured, once I saw people shifting to the discounted longer-term rate, that it would set back our push towards the updated QT Casting Guide, but as of this morning, we're right back where we were before the yearly rates launch, so I feel good that I'll have to post that this month. I've been working on it here and there, and damn is it getting big. I still have a handful of people to cast, but the damn thing is huge, already 30+ pages. A handful more subscriptions and we'll get there.

With the flatmate out of the house, I'm also going to try and interesting experiment next week, and we'll see how that goes. More about that when we get there. But it's something a number of you have suggested I try for a while now. We're going to give it a go, and see if there's any interest in it.

 Here's the upcoming public schedule for the next month or so: 4/12 - Smokeland Slumdance 1, QT:PT 21, Neon Stonehenge 10; 4/19 - QT2:30; 4/26 - CARP 11; 5/3 - Pack 14, QT2:i6.

Got a Mox Jasper, but neither of the two planeswalkers, which was what I'd been hoping for.

If it's an older subscription at a lower level (i.e. the old $3/$6 levels), I bumped those up for new subscriptions a few months ago, as I mentioned in a newspost a ways back to $4/$8 for new subscriptions, so those levels only exist if you already have them. To move to a yearly, you'd need to sign up for the newer rate. That's something in the back end of Patreon, I think, so they'd have to be able to change that for you if you wanted, assuming they can.

Question, I tried to change to the annual subscription at the same tier and it would not let me save it.
