Weekly Update - 7/2/25
Added 2025-07-03 01:11:01 +0000 UTCI hate being cryptic, but it's been a rough couple of weeks for reasons I can't really get into. That said, on Monday, I leave for my week's vacation out with friends in Germany, and maybe the mental gymnastics of getting ready for that has contributed to the general malaise that's permeated things for the last few weeks, on top of the other crap. (There's also the knowledge that the last time I traveled out to see these friends in 2022 was the time I caught Covid in the airport on the way back, so that doesn't help matters much. Ha!)
I got a new chapter of A Pack Of His Own off to its commissioner yesterday, and I'm working on a chapter of Before The Storm right now, just because it's what was in my head, and what I felt like I could make the most progress in writing, so we'll see how much progress I can make and how much I can get done before I leave and while I travel. After that, I'm going to try and get QTUM, QTPT, QTSS and QT2 chapters done, but at this point, we'll see. Sometimes the brain just doesn't want to provide.
I'm going to be in Cologne for a few days on my own next week and then hanging with my friends for the following weekend before they drop me back off at Frankfurt airport for my Sunday flight back. I'll definitely try and get caught up on writing during the plane flights, at least partially, and (barring I catch Covid again), I'll come back with a new, reinvigorated attitude. I only get to see these friends for a few days every few years or so, and this year in particular should be a lot of fun. I'll see if I can post some pictures up along the way.
The weather scheduled for while I'm out there seems like it's still up in the air, but we'll see. Could be raining; could be blisteringly hot. I'd dig a bit of rain. It's been warm on the west coast, although not east coast HeatWave warm, thankfully.
Then, the week after I get back, I'm off to Colorado to see my first ever show at Red Rocks, which I keep hearing is amazing. So that'll be fun. And then I get back just in time to run Magic: The Gathering prereleases for the Edge of Eternity set.
Yeah, this month is packed.
I will do what I can to cram as much writing as I can out along the way. I do feel very bad for how little content I was able to get out last month, but I am working on it, and trying to both get better and forgive myself for being human and just having some shitty months here and there. One step at a time, though.
As always, the upcoming public schedule: 7/5 - Before The Storm 15, QT2:34; 7/12 - Pack 15; 7/19 - Neon Stonehenge 12; 7/26 - Captains' Days 4.

Red Rocks is indeed amazing. Out of the venues I’ve been to, only Hollywood Bowl even comes close. I hope you enjoy the show. If you happen to be in Boulder while you’re in Colorado, I’ll gladly buy you a drink at Will’s Crossroads Diner.
