A few weeks ago, my office announced a full Return to Office (RTO) order. My current schedule was 2-3 days in the office, but on those days the commute is roughly 90 mins (Each way).
(The above is a preview of a comic where 2b will literally destroy the office she was ordered to return to, look forward to it soon!)
Over the last several years I have used the extra time avoiding commutes to bring art to everyone here and better support my family. It has helped me maintain a good balance and I have been thankful to have that benefit for so long.
Unfortunately, that time I usually counted on, will evaporate starting in May. It means less time with my family, more exhaustion and general grumpiness.
What does that mean for you? Absolutely nothing.
Personally, I am now hard on the hunt for a new job (Haven't had a new job in 13 years, but it is clear this is now the time to move), I am scheduling time on my weekends to focus solely on art (Sunday mornings!), and as get used to this new schedule, for as long as I am on it, I will use my leave and such to keep up on any outstanding obligations.
