Vanessa did know what her weakness was and came to the Contested Turn Junction Herself, only to find out that an entire Combat Operations Block or COB had been lost defending it.

This was and was not a surprise to her. She knows that Lani knows her Methods, Strategy and Tactics. Hence why she had an assassin attempt to dispatch Lani.

Vanessa knew the assassin had a very slim chance to actually take Lani out, however she was counting on it shaking Lani's resolve and throwing her into a rage where she is likely to make severe tactical mistakes.

Not Stirred, no shaken Lani continued with the original plan. Calling on Black Factions massive resource pool along with hundreds of Temp Units, willing to fight for a few weeks at a time. Overwhelming and defeating V-Corp at the Turn Junction Lani has set in Motion the removal of V-Corp from that region of the Island.

One of several major defeats for V-Corp so far. Vanessa had a burning desire to keep the turn junction and the region intact, but her resources are stretched thin now against a never ending supply of Black Faction bodies. She needs to focus on the withdrawal and breaking the outpost and other turn junction units out from the surrounding forces.

Her option is to tackle Sector Coastal Souths Commander, Ana Dark head on to break through on the Eastern Side. Vanessa learned early on in her career with Ana and knows her quite well. Ana has been punished for the lack of a better term numerous times over the years for incompetence. Vanessa knows how to exploit her. Ana relies heavily on wave tactics, specifically to fatigue the defending enemy and resources. She has been using Shadow Sector at a rate of 5 per day, meaning she sends 5 each and every day at the V-Corp defenders, she is running low on what was allotted to her.

Vanessa knows that soon enough Ana will have thinned out defences on her Western Flank, primed for a strike.
