On Mallera-9 the tides of fortune can be turned in a matter of minutes.
In the case of the Zuvic incursion, Black Faction managed to thwart a massive company establishing itself on the Island, literally in an unbeatable position.
Mass attacking the platform ended that but sacrificed thousands of SCUs and basically ended BFCs Elite Arm.
But was all that sacrifice worth it? Well yes, Zuvic was essentially wiped, only retaining a small elite force going forward.
The Platform was worth almost a Trillion Credits. Billions upon billions of Credits worth of equipment and potentially decades of debt to come for Kader Zuvic.
Not to mention the 10000 plus units sunk into the abyss, never to be seen again.
So enter the chemical attack, set up by a woman stuck in the "big roll of the dice" mentality of that era.
Ana Dark may or may not have had the blessing of the Mistress to carry out the attack, but there was a high probability it would have worked.
Vanessa was on site, fighting herself and so was Ayla. Cutting off the head of the Snake that is V-Corp would have ended everything once and for all for it.
But it was going to cost a few thousand Black Faction units, including Lani.
Worth it? Worth the sacrifice? Yes and worth the risk.
Black Faction could have easily appropriated V-Corps assets after the loss of Vanessa and Ayla and most definitely destroyed the others, CPD, Zuvic and KTS.
The real question for The Mistress is.
If this was going to ensure Black Factions Victory over V-Corp, then why didn't Lani let it go ahead?
If Lani is really committed to Black Faction
If she is truly The Mistresses Servant
Why didn't she accept her fate and go down in the attack?
