PTSD
Added 2020-09-16 05:35:02 +0000 UTCPosttraumatic Stress Disorder or PTSD for short is a psychiatric disorder that may occur in people who have experienced or witnessed a traumatic event such as a natural disaster, a serious accident, a terrorist act, war/combat, or rape or who have been threatened with death, sexual violence or serious injury.
People with PTSD have intense, disturbing thoughts and feelings related to their experiences that last long after the traumatic event has ended. They may relive the event through flashbacks or nightmares; they may feel sadness, fear, or anger; and they may feel detached or estranged from other people. People with PTSD may avoid situations or people that remind them of the traumatic event, and they may have strong negative reactions to something as ordinary as a loud noise or an accidental touch.

Note: This is a Remake and Expansion of PieBaldFawn's original PTSD Trait. They chose to remove and retire it. I decided to recreate it since it is a very often used trait of mine, as well I suffer from it as a person. I won't get into the details, but people can be rather cruel.
Anyway, If something doesn't feel right or the moodlets happen to fast or not fast enough Please let me know. I spent days working on the timing.

Technically, yes. You won't get anything extra, but as far as realism yes my service animal mod works well with any mental health trait I or any other creator has made.

2021-08-03 02:12:39 +0000 UTCDoes this work/play well with the Service Dog mod you've made? Can the dog help?
2021-08-03 02:10:14 +0000 UTCMaybe. I'd need to remake the entire thing from scratch so it wouldn't conflict with the CAS version, but I'll think about it.

2021-07-09 02:18:55 +0000 UTCIs it possible to have a reward trait version as well? I understand personality disorders being purely CAS but I think mood disorders/anxiety disorders and PTSD would function well as a reward trait too. Of course, no pressure just something I was curious about.

2021-07-09 02:07:33 +0000 UTCAs long as it is a create-a-sim trait there has always been a possibility of when the game generates a sim or when a sim ages of them receiving any trait you have in your game be it custom or EA. This is and always has been a game mechanic. So yes, you can and will find NPC's with my custom create-a-sim traits, as well as any other custom traits by other creators you may have in your game.

2021-05-15 01:52:54 +0000 UTCThank you so much for bringing this back! And better! As I also have it in rl, I always put it on any sim I'm making for myself. Some others get it obviously. Is it possible for NPCs that to develop or have it randomly? Or any of the other Mental Emotional Traits?

2021-05-15 01:20:04 +0000 UTCShows just fine in my own game under the Emotional Trait tab in create-A-Sim. Maybe you have a conflicting trait? It should have a green and white pill icon. I just double checked by loading a new save with just the script & package file. You can also add it using Chingyu's add traits menu if you have that.

2021-05-12 18:02:14 +0000 UTCI'm sorry for asking this, and maybe I just have too many mods or can't comprehend what I read, but how do I apply this to a Sim? It appears to be a trait but I can't find a PTSD or Emotional Create-A-Sim Trait in my game as stated above. BTW, I own all the packs.

2021-05-12 17:53:45 +0000 UTCYea, I can look into it. However, I do test all my content alone. I do know once you add other mods and traits it does affect the dice rolls for the moodlets. My sim will go weeks without a nightmare and then have them every night for a few days. All of the moodlets are based on a Min-Max with a dice roll timer. So you may have just gotten lucky with the chances.

2021-01-29 16:13:36 +0000 UTCHi I just wanted to say I love this trait but I ended up deleting it because I found the moodlets to be too fast and frequent. My sim can feel better for about 3 hours and then it returns. Nightmares every night is also a problem. That being said, it is very true to many cases of PTSD, but not all so this is really just feedback more than anything. I really loved this trait but it was too much for me. I would want to take the severity and frequency down by like 1/3.
