Glad your enjoying these lovely and thought provoking movies. I think that the reason you don't hear about them is, most folks don't want to think that hard about their movies. As I recall, there was also a bit of bashing of the movie due to it's primarily female cast. First time watching, I was wondering as well why they did not take short trips into the Shimmer, but it seems that the Shimmer fools with their perceptions. The first camp we see them in, they're realizing that they are several days in, and already lost. There seems to be something about eating in the shimmer. Lena say's she did not remember eating. I kind of think that the bear was not eating it's kills, but was consuming them in another way. I forgot how affective the sound design is in this. Particularly in the lighthouse. One of the most on edge experiences I've had in a theater. Great reaction. Overall, you picked up on more than I did first time through.

Avoided Never Let Me Go, but I'll have to give it a try. I like Andrew Garfield, and want to see more of Carey Mulligan after Promising Young Woman.

All of Alex Garland's films are worth watching, I think. A very thoughtful director/writer. He seems to divide the critics a bit. Never Let Me Go that he wrote the screenplay for is one of my favourites. This is my second time watching this and it's better the second time. Same as The Green Knight, that was better on a second watch too.
