As an expat Saffer, this work of art has provoked an emotional response every time I watched it. Initially very superficial (the accents), then anger, later understanding and compassion. To me, it is allegorical of the country's recent history.

If that gets you upset, wait until you see the directorβs follow up film, Elysium. Iβd skip Chappie tho. Die Antwoord are the stars and they have some really disturbing allegations against them right now and they keep getting weirder about it. Such a bummer too because that movie is a technical masterpiece.
